Your Role with The Company:– Creating 3-axis and 5-axis programs using CAM software.– Developing tools/fixtures for improved machining, understanding tool speeds/feeds and their effect on materials and manufacturing cycle times, and providing support to CNC operations.– Reviewing and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and other design documents to develop effective programming layouts that optimize yield.– Evaluate drawings and design data to determine the optimal machining paths, cutting configurations, tool selections, and machine parameters such as speeds and feed rates.– Developing comprehensive tool assignments, specifying necessary materials, and communicating detailed programming plans to operators to ensure clarity and efficiency.– Preparing material blank sheets, operational instruction sheets, and cutter lists to facilitate the accurate setup and operation of machinery.– Inspecting and verifying all documentation, including programming files, to ensure thoroughness and precision in data presentation.– Collaborating with machine operators to resolve programming issues, providing hands-on assistance with machine operations.– Implementing corrections and updates to programming documents following established revision protocols.– This position reports to the Director of Engineering and will interact with many company functions so your success will be recognized!
Background Profile:– 2+ years of CNC programming experience in a manufacturing environment– Familiarity with plastics is strongly preferred.– Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and Mastercam software.– Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.– Highly detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.– Advanced mathematical aptitude and capability to interpret technical blueprints.– Ability to adapt to changing situations and demonstrate effective troubleshooting skills.– Experience with SolidWorks is ideal.
