Beacon Technologies is seeking a Desktop Engineer for our client partner. The Desktop Engineer will provide the best overall customer experience as the face of IT by responding to and providing support for more complex technical issues, and servicing more advanced technology and application requests. This position is a subject matter expert in specialized areas and serves as an escalation point. This position is also responsible for the fulfillment of more complex technology and application requests, patch management, asset management, image management and is involved at a deeper level with tools used for endpoint management and security.
Essential Functions:End User Support
Identifies, troubleshoots, resolves more complex level technical problems for various products and services under minimal supervision.Serves as the subject matter expert and escalation point in many technologies and applications.Develops and maintains user-facing documentation to help increase customer satisfaction and promote self-service, maintains corporate knowledge base.Develops operational procedures for internal use to improve customer satisfaction and promote efficiency.Participates in an on-call rotation for afterhours support.
Endpoint Management
Application administrator for the tools to help manage assets, fleet of multi-functional devices, images, and others as assigned.Performs daily operational tasks associated with the health of all corporate endpoint devices including monitoring logs, status checks on application deployments, patching status and other duties as assigned.Researches and makes recommendations regarding hardware standards for all laptops, desktops, printers, and peripherals.Participates in and/or leads medium to larger project initiatives related to new technologies, products, services, and upgrades of hardware/software, which may be more complex in nature and require more technical expertise.
Security
Creates, tests, and deploys monthly OS security updates, and security patches for various business applications.Assists in the analysis of vulnerability notices and impact of applications portfolio, researches patches, and implements.Assists the internal incident response team for endpoint forensics and other remediation and containment efforts.
