Focuses on day-to-day administration and management of the church office and building. Manage communication tool systems that propel and support Epworth United Methodist Church (EUMC).Compensation and Hours:• $20/hour; 10-15 hours/week with possibility of future increased hours.• Mandatory in-office/in-person on Wednesdays 10-2pm and 1-2 other days (Monday, but flexible).Duties and Responsibilities:Attends Leadership meetings monthly performing secretarial duties, including taking minutes.Attends staff meetings and keeps posted office hours.General Office Administrator: maintains and updates electronic and hardcopy files; updates membership records; maintains the church calendar; manages and distributes incoming mail; checks and responds to email and phone messages, forwarding when necessary; inventories supplies and ensures there is ample; maintains an orderly and welcoming workspace.General Building Administrator: updates bulletin boards, manages mailboxes, manages and oversees building needs with renters/tenants and users; coordinates with custodian needs as they come up.Stays well-informed on church events and “advertises” them before they happen.Updates the church’s website (calendar, bulletins, newsletter, photos).Develops content strategy aligned with short-term and long-term marketing targets.Collaborates with other staff and volunteer teams to plan and develop website content, style and layout for website and social media.Creates and publishes engaging hardcopy and electronic content.Maintains consistency in branding of all materials regarding logo, mission statement, messaging, etc.Prepares bulletins for regular and special services; gives needed reminders (verbally and/or by email), prints, and distributes appropriately; maintains an electronic file of worship bulletins and inserts; sends worship bulletins, newsletters, and announcements to shut-ins and others as directed.Additional Requirements:Commitment to the mission and vision of Epworth United Methodist Church.Efficient self-starter able to work under minimal supervision.Ability to work well in a team-based environment and adjust to change in a positive manner; support ministries in coordination with Outreach and Ministry Director and Program Event Concierge.Realize organization status and optimize time-management skills; ability to problem-solve.Ability to handle multiple projects/initiatives simultaneously, with the ability to think ahead, anticipate the next need and/or barrier to success, and meet deadlines.Strong written and spoken communication skills.Adept in: MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), website and social media management using Squarespace, Facebook, Instagram, etc. or email apps and platforms (e.g., MailChimp, Constant Contact) or at least one graphic platform/program/software (Adobe Photoshop, Canva).Education:
