ResponsibilitiesThe Web Merchandiser/Merchant is a hybrid role with both Merchandiser and Merchant responsibilities. The person in this role partners with divisional team members, vendors, and stakeholders from e-commerce, marketing, and our IT departments under the direction of the Divisional Merchandise Manager. They will be responsible for strategizing and executing web and social strategies that drive customer satisfaction, brand value, sales, and conversion increases for brick and mortar, web, web only, D2C, BOPUS, affiliate and Concept Shop sales. In addition, this position will help drive non-selling content on the Blain’s web site and social media.Schedule and participate in vendor meetingsAttend trade shows and seminars throughout the yearDevelop and maintain DTC and affiliate partnershipsPartnership with buyers, planners, and e-comm team in establishing and maintaining budgets for online sales, margins, inventory, turn, SKUs, and GMROI in partnership with the Divisional Merchandise Manager and Inventory ManagersAdvocate for and facilitate non-selling content on web and in social that creates customer engagement, shares product knowledge, and reenforces brand valuesAdvocate for, track, and report on web/POS functionality with SME within Marketing, IT, store ops, buying, and customer insights.Work with customer insights and web analytics to understand customer journey and how customer needs are met or missed by web and product experienceCreate reporting and deliver against goals on a weekly basis to divisionAct as divisional liaison with marketing for all electronic CGP strategiesAct as divisional liaison with marketing on new key item product additions, all electronic CGP strategies and new brands being introducedPerform competitive analysis and partner with customer insights to drive overall go to market strategyCreate profitable sales and conversion web strategies for in store/web, web only, DTC, and BOPUS products that are data driven and KPI measured Complete other assignments and special projects as assignedCreates private brand meta data creation for the web site.Partner with Brick-and-Mortar merchants to design and execute testing to learn about web only and brick and mortar opportunitiesWork with e-comm marketing team to optimize search logic on-siteDrive DTC story/merchandising brand, category, and item opportunities that increase the offering, sales, and conversion while optimizing customer experienceWork with Administrative Assistants in managing SKUs through the vendor portal and managing samples for photography where required.
