Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Work with multi-disciplinary teams on tasks such as work zone traffic, intersection design, traffic signal design, roadway signing and pavement marking plans, DOT access permitting, control plans and traffic signal operations analysis.

Obtaining, analyzing, and interpreting demographic and other regional transportation planning data.

Assisting in the preparation or modification of specifications, plans, construction schedules, permits, and designs for projects.

Reviewing construction site to monitor progress and other duties per the contract documents.

Serving as on-site project representative.

May assist the team with traffic studies, corridor planning, feasibility studies, and safety audits.

Job Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (required)

Professional Engineering License (PE) in NC or able to obtain within 2 years (not required, but preferred)

Knowledge of CADD Software (AutoCAD/Civil3D experience preferred)

Knowledge or familiarity with NCSDOT/NCDPW design standards, including traffic signal design, signing and striping, ADA compliance, pavement design, work zone traffic control, and/or access permitting.

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Strong work ethic and ability to work on multiple projects and ability to meet multiple deadlines.

Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

Valid Driver’s License
