The Activities Coordinator for the HIS STEM Title III Grant is a full-time, on-campus position at Roosevelt University located in the STEM Center on the Chicago campus. Here at Roosevelt University, a designated Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI), the Activities Coordinator plays a key role in fostering an inclusive, vibrant, and engaging campus culture. This position is responsible for planning, organizing, and executing student activities and events that promote student engagement, cultural awareness, and community building to achieve the Grant’s goals. The Activities Coordinator will work closely with diverse student populations, including underrepresented groups, to create programs that support academic success, leadership development, and social integration.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:A bachelor’s degree in a STEM field, higher education, student affairs, event management, psychology, or a related field is required.Project management skills, preferably in higher education.Experience creating programs, workshops, and activities to promote personal and academic development.Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with various campus stakeholders.Proficient in Microsoft software.Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks with attention to detail.Experience with Title III or other grant administration preferred.Minimum 3 years’ experience in educational support services and academic or student affairs; knowledge of best practices in retention and student support in the community college context preferred.Experience working with both students who have STEM majors and those undecided interested in pursuing a STEM major.Knowledge of Banner, Transferology, and other student-informed systems.Strong commitment to working in higher education with first-generation, low-income, and Latinx students.Years of Experience Required:

Standard climate and noise-controlled office environment. Job is mostly sedentary and requires frequent use of wrist for typing.Essential Job Functions:Responsible for the STEM Center welcome desk (creating a calendar so you or the student workers are covering at all times).Responsible for the management and development of the daily activities of the STEM Center to achieve the project objectives.Responsible for the oversight of office supplies, ensuring availability to meet the operational needs of the center.Responsible for keeping an event line track to ensure that activities get done as expected (workshops, events, etc.) and that every event has been supplied with any necessary materials.Percentage Of Time:50% - Assist with data collection for evaluation, budget tracking, and reporting.30% - Assist with the logistics organization for the research-based classes (location, materials, appointments, etc.).10% - Assist with coordination, implementation, and integration of the Summer Bridge Program.10% - Assist the Executive Director with administrative tasks as needed.Required Documents:ResumeCover LetterList of References
