We seek a Tactical Air Operations Subject Matter Expert II who is immediately available and will thrive in a challenging, rewarding, process-oriented environment. As a team member, you will contribute to the ongoing efforts of the concept-based Force Design (FD) Campaign of Learning by conducting Research, Development, Test & Evaluation (RDT&E) for the Marine Corps Warfighting Laboratory (MCWL) Futures Directorate (FD) Experiment Division (EX DIV).You will perform Research, Development, Tests, and Evaluation to identify future challenges and opportunities, develop warfighting concepts, and comprehensively explore options to inform the combat development process and meet the challenges of future operating environments in the Air and Space domains. During live force experiments, you will apply principles, methods, and knowledge of specific Marine Corps Aviation Modernization efforts that will help MAGTFs gain an unfair advantage in the next fight. These live force experiments can be conducted as stand-alone events or in conjunction with the Fleet Marine Force (FMF) unilateral, joint, or combined exercises. Results of experiments and supporting recommendations will enhance the warfighting capabilities of the Marine Corps, enable competition against our nation’s adversaries, and place new technologies in the hands of the Marine Corps warfighter. Your efforts will help Marines thwart an adversary’s planning and operations in the air domain. This effort may touch on DoD critical technology areas such as trust artificial intelligence and autonomy.Location:
This position is located onsite in Quantico, VA.Responsibilities:Provide advanced technical knowledge and analysis of highly specialized applications and operational environments, as well as high-level functional systems analysis, design, integration, documentation, training, and implementation advice on complex problems that may require doctorate-level knowledge of the subject matter for effective implementation.Conduct studies, wargames, Modeling & Simulation (M&S), and technology development events to prepare for experiments in live, virtual, constructive environments.Assess live-force experiments and develop recommendations to refine warfighting concepts across the DOTMLPF-P spectrum.Able to perform/work in field environments and conditions and meet all requirements to embark on military vehicles, ships, submarines, small boats, and aircraft. Exercises may be executed twenty-four (24) hours a day.Apply principles, methods, and air domain awareness operations knowledge to specific experimentation requirements.Provide advice on esoteric problems which require extensive knowledge of the subject matter.Design and prepare technical reports, studies, and related documentation; develop charts and graphs to record results; prepare and deliver presentations, training, and briefings as required.Produce periodic progress reports.Required Qualifications:Up to 50% travel anticipated.Recent experience as a fixed-wing aviator (within the past five years).A MINIMUM of five years’ experience operating fixed-wing aircraft.Ability to travel for multiple weeks at one time.Security Clearance:
