Rio Salado College is seeking an experienced and talented Senior Drupal Software Developer to join our team. As a Senior Drupal Software Developer, you will be responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of complex Drupal-based web applications. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including designers, Subject Matter Experts, and system administrators, to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality Drupal solutions.Key Responsibilities:Design and develop scalable and secure Drupal-based web applications, modules, and themes.Customize and extend Drupal core functionalities to meet specific project requirements.Collaborate with designers to translate visual concepts into functional Drupal themes.Conduct code reviews, identify areas for improvement, and provide technical guidance.Implement best practices for performance optimization, security, and maintainability.Troubleshoot and debug issues with Drupal applications and provide timely resolutions.Stay up to date with Drupal community trends, contribute to open-source projects, and share knowledge with the team.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to estimate effort, plan project timelines, and deliver projects on time.Promote knowledge sharing and foster a culture of continuous learning.In addition to these responsibilities, you will also be responsible for coding web applications in PHP and related languages and libraries using standards-compliant code. This includes front-end/back-end development, core updates, maintaining contributed modules, coding custom modules, and integrating and maintaining websites and web applications.Essential Functions
50% – PHP / Drupal Development: The Senior Drupal Software Developer will be responsible for creating and modifying codes, tests and debugs applications, designs program code structure and requirements, monitors and troubleshoots system issues, and performs system applications and/or database system maintenance. Provides technical support for production and system/application performance. Evaluates and analyzes issues, applies standard techniques and procedures to resolve problems, and makes recommendations. Occasionally serves as project lead or supervisor for non-exempt regular staff.25% – Issue Resolution and Documentation: Resolves tickets with a high level of customer satisfaction, anticipates issues and risks in coding and development, and appropriately escalates or resolves them. Assists in the development, documentation, maintenance, and training of programming standards, procedures, data files, system interfaces, and records. Maintains liaison with technical staff for the resolution of computer system issues.15% – Training and Coordination: Provides training, guidance, and orientation to staff. Responsible for testing, coordinating projects, maintaining programming standards and procedures, and ensuring data security. Provides web content backup as needed.10% – Research and Knowledge Sharing: Keeps up with the latest trends and emerging technologies in web development and shares their knowledge with team members. Researches, evaluates, and tests the development of hardware and software. Performs other related duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in information technology or directly related field and four years of technical experience in programming, systems analysis, design and development of system software and applications.ORAn equivalent combination of the conferred degree, education, certification and directly related full-time work experience as described above sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation, may be considered.Desired Qualifications
A. Advanced degree in Computer Science or related field from a regionally accredited institution.B. Demonstrated experience with Drupal development, including Drupal site setup, custom module development, customize themes, site migration, and troubleshooting. Proficiency in Drupal 9 is especially valuable.C. Understanding of front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).D. Any Drupal or software-related certifications are highly desired.E. Stays up to date with the latest Drupal technologies and developments.F. Excellent communication skills.Special Working Conditions
