Job SummaryThe Site Autonomy Engineer’s primary role will be hands-on support of the operational fleet in a site operations location. The engineer will work intimately with the electromechanical and software elements of the system to ensure the success of the launch and safety of the autonomous operation.Job ResponsibilitiesCoordinates and implements vehicle upfits to support fleet upgrades and initiativesDebugs electrical and mechanical issues on the vehiclesExecutes on-site sensor calibrationsExecutes on-site testing of feature improvementsPerforms preventative maintenance on May vehiclesRecords issues found and resolutions, escalating in proper channels as necessaryAssists in testing the autonomous operation of the vehicle to ensure it follows May’s standards for safety and rider comfortImplements hardware changes in the field, ensuring safe operation for return to serviceCommunicates issues and successes to the engineering team, and drives resolutionPerform data acquisition by utilizing vehicle sensor suiteCoordinates and develops the on-site configuration and deployment of autonomous technology in designated locationsBuild and maintain local May Mobility mapping assetsAssist in fleet cleanliness and demo readinessQualifications and SkillsPreferred Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or relevant experienceExperience and comfort in computing environments, especially LinuxAbility to read and understand mechanical and/or electrical schematicsSafety-first approach to all workKnowledge of wire harnesses and basic mechanical subsystemsAbility to debug and modify mechanical and electrical systemsAbility to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systemsSystems-level thinkingExperience using Git and GitHub or Gitlab, or ability to learnPhysical Requirements
