Position Information

Senior IT Auditor performs responsible, professional work in conducting information technology (IT) audits at State agencies, educational entities, and local governmental units.A Senior IT Auditor:Conducts IT audits or other IT engagements at State agencies, educational entities, and local governmental units, including, but not limited to, the development of the audit plan and audit program, the coordination of the audit team work assignments, the supervision and review of the audit team’s work, the review and evaluation of automated systems and internal controls, necessary testing, and other related procedures.Compiles general statistical data.Monitors critical information technology projects as required by law.Determines extent of compliance with applicable law, established policies, plans, and procedures.Prepares reports recommending improvements in accounting methods, information systems, program operations, and internal and other management controls.Prepares recommendations for reporting suggested changes to statutory and budgetary requirements.Meets with governmental officials to discuss audit findings and recommendations.Assists in the instruction, training, and supervision of subordinate auditors.Assigns work to subordinate auditors and reviews their work.Assists in preparing audit programs and developing audit procedures.Performs other related duties as required.Position: Senior IT AuditorOrganization: Florida Auditor General's OfficeLocation: Various Locations, FL, United StatesSalary: Commensurate with experience.Posting Start Date: 7/9/2024Date Posted: 10/16/2024Requirements:A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in accounting and 30 semester or 45 quarter hours in excess of those required for a 4-year baccalaureate degree, meeting the educational requirements of the Florida State Board of Accountancy for licensure as a Certified Public Accountant and two years of relevant professional experience (one year of relevant professional experience may be substituted for the hours in excess of those required for a 4-year baccalaureate degree if application was made prior to August 2, 1983, to the Florida State Board of Accountancy for taking the Certified Public Accountant’s examination); or,A master’s degree from an accredited college or university in information studies, information systems, or an information technology-related field of study and two years of relevant professional experience or a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in accounting, finance, management, one of the computer sciences, management information systems, statistics, or information studies with an emphasis in information technology (a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in another field of study and possession of a CISA certificate or a master’s degree in business administration may substitute for the bachelor’s degree with major course work in the fields of study listed) and three years of relevant professional experience; or,Possession of a CPA certificate accepted by the Florida State Board of Accountancy and two years of relevant professional experience.Status: This listing expires on: 1/14/2025Contact Information:Name: Florida Auditor General's OfficeEmail: michellemaguire@aud.state.fl.usPhone: (850) 412-2760Contact: Michelle Maguire
