Date: Oct 31, 2024The Florida Office of Insurance Regulation – Office of Inspector General (OIG) is seeking a highly responsible individual for the position of Senior Management Analyst II.This position is required to exercise discretion and independent judgement with respect to matters of significance at all times in carrying out the assigned duties and responsibilities; ensure the confidential/exempt information that is created, obtained and/or used by the OIG is accorded strict accountability and physical protection; perform duties and responsibilities in accordance with the
International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing
and the
Principles and Standards for Offices of Inspector General , when applicable; and perform the following duties independently, as a member of a team, or in an in-charge capacity as assigned by the Inspector General.In consultation with the Inspector General, plan and conduct investigations, inquiries and reviews of alleged violations of statutes, rules, regulations, policies, procedures, contracts, and when requested by the Inspector General, complaints related to employee misconduct and personnel issues.Participate in the annual risk assessment process and completion of the risk-based audit work plan.Assist with the coordination and cooperation of audits and reviews performed by external entities such as the Auditor General, Office of Program Policy Analysis and Government Accountability (OPPAGA), and other governmental bodies.Complete other duties related to the operations of the OIG as assigned.Education and Job-Related RequirementsA bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a business-related field with at least five courses in accounting and five years of experience as an internal auditor which includes audits of units of government or private business enterprises; orA master’s degree in accounting, business administration, or public administration from an accredited college or university and 4 years of experience as an internal auditor which includes audits of units of government or private business enterprises; orA certified public accountant (CPA) license or a certified internal auditor (CIA) designation and 4 years of experience as an internal auditor which includes audits of units of government or private business enterprises.PreferencesPreference will be given to candidates with one or more of the following professional designations: Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), or Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA).Preference will be given to candidates who can show proficiency in the application of the
International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing .Required / Entry-Level KSAsAbility to identify and apply internal auditing principles and professional standards.Ability to analyze internal controls and identify areas that require improvement.Ability to understand, interpret and apply laws, rules and regulations, policies and procedures.Ability to collect, analyze data, and develop findings and recommendations.Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.Ability to maintain effective working relationships with others.Knowledge of basic management principles and practices.The anticipated starting salary range is between $70,000 - $85,000.
