Associate Systems Administrator, Information Technology, (HYBRID ELIGIBLE) [R0144867] .ROLE of the POSITIONThis position reports to the Senior 2 Systems Administrator/Supervisor overseeing the Professional Services team and provides full-time systems administration services in the Systems Engineering (SE) group of the Office of Information Technology. The incumbent builds and deploys systems under the supervision and direction of SE staff members. System administration includes tasks such as operating systems and application version upgrades, application of patches, performance tuning, troubleshooting hardware and software, hardware maintenance and growth projections, backup, recovery, security and engineering and administration of enterprise and departmental storage services.The Associate Systems Administrator plays a critical role in supporting student success by ensuring the seamless operation and accessibility of critical IT services that directly enhance the learning experience. This position manages and maintains the virtual desktop and application environment, enabling students to access virtual labs and specialized software essential for their coursework.FLEXIBLE WORK – HYBRID ELIGIBLEThis position is eligible to work a hybrid (remote/in-person) schedule based on acceptable performance and organizational needs in alignment with the UNLV Flexible Work Policy (

).MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSThis position requires an earned Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and 1 year of Systems Administrator experience or 3 years of IT Support Analyst experience or an equivalent amount of experience.In addition, experience working in a higher education environment is preferred along with the following certifications:VMware CertificationPMI CAPMMicrosoft CertificationLinux CertificationKubernetes CertificationCOMMITMENT to DIVERSITY and CAMPUS VALUESA successful candidate will support diversity, equity, and inclusiveness and contribute to a respectful, positive work environment.SALARYSalary range is $80,200 to $82,600.
