Under general supervision of the Accounting Administrator I (AAI) - Supervisor, the Accounting Officer (Specialist) acts as the unit lead and is responsible for independently performing professional accounting duties, auditing and processing travel reimbursement claims, through the use of Financial Information System for California (FI$Cal), and California Automated Travel Expense and Reimbursement System - Global (CalATERS) for the Department of State Hospitals (DSH). The incumbent acts as the Subject Matter Expert (SME).

Working ConditionsDSH-Sacramento is located at a new 11 floor high rise building.This position is physically located in Sacramento and is currently offered with the potential for a hybrid work environment. Consistent with Policy Directive 5338, Telework may be considered with prior approval from management. If approved, incumbent is expected to report to work at the Allenby building at least twice per week, as directed by their supervisor. Reporting to work at your assigned Headquarters is not considered travel and therefore do not quality for travel payment or reimbursements.
