Job Summary: Responsible for recording journal entries, posting and maintaining the General Ledger, and preparing various reports required by the supervisor according to established policies and procedures, with a specific emphasis on accruals, investments, and daily reconciliation of bank correspondent accounts. This role ensures accurate financial reporting and compliance while supporting the overall financial health of the organization. Job Duties Include: Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements and reports in accordance with GAAP. Record journal entries and maintain the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are accurately reflected. Conduct and review assigned monthly reconciliations of internal DDA and balance sheet accounts. Daily balancing of the bank's correspondent bank account, including monitoring liquidity throughout the day. Manage the accounting records for the bank's investment portfolio. Maintain accounting records for the bank's purchased mortgage loan portfolio. Prepare reports for SEC and Call Report regulatory reporting. Manage and process prepaid expenses and accruals, ensuring accurate accounting and reporting. Track payables and receivables to ensure timely and accurate reporting. Analyze financial data to identify trends and variances, providing insights to management. Support audits by preparing necessary documentation and responding to inquiries. Backup the fixed assets management process, including tracking, depreciation, and disposal. Collaborate with internal departments to provide financial insights and support decision-making. Perform all other duties as assigned.
What we are looking for: Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in Accounting or Finance. Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience, preferably in a banking or financial services environment. Proficient in Microsoft Excel, with demonstrated knowledge of VLOOKUP and pivot tables. Accounting firm experience a plus, but not essential Strong understanding of accounting principles and regulatory requirements. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
