Responsible for general accounting duties related to Research grants (Federal, Fed Sub, Industry, Private Foundations and internally funded), Gifts (Special Purpose and Designated Funds), Foundations, and other Endeavor Health entities assigned. The position assists in the month-end close, completes account reconciliations, and prepares monthly and quarterly reports, including financial statements. The position also provides variance analysis and commentary to senior management. The position will support operations including Research, Foundation and Hospitals. The position will prepare appropriate documentation for internal and external audits. Also, assist in Quarterly Financial Reporting and coordination of annual external PBC Audit.

General Accounting Responsibilities:
Perform all month-end accounting entries for Research, Grants, Foundation and other entities assigned.Monitor grant expenditures and maintain records of use of funds.Review and submit NIH Federal direct sponsor reimbursement requests and review federal and sub recipient expenditures.Ensure compliance with grants and foundation guidelines, regulations and reporting requirements, and terms and conditions of awards.Work closely with grant managers to monitor F&A (allowable costs) and Fringe Benefits rate agreement are being followed.Assist in the grant Uniform Guidance audit and Federal Clearing House and GATA (ILL Grant Accountability and Transparency Act) filings.Assist the Sr Manager of Accounting in accurate and timely preparation of monthly financial statements for assigned entities and GL categories within Endeavor HealthPrepare account reconciliations for GL accounts assigned.Prepare financial statements for Endeavor Research Institute, Special Purpose, Foundation and other entities assignedAssists on preparation of FSR and or other regulatory reports, year-end Audit, A133 Audit and other Special program grant.Assists in the Endeavor Health Quarterly Financial Reporting submission including Statement of Operations, Balance sheet, Statement of Changes in Cash, Statement of Changes in Net Assets, and other schedules within strict reporting deadlinesAnalyzes and explains significant budget variances for the assigned entities for both the current period and year-to-date activity. This involves detailed research of variances and can include written and verbal correspondence to understand the underlying variances.Serves as a resource for other accounting staff members and Endeavor Health department heads; responds to questions related to general accounting of assigned entities.Assist with annual audit preparations. Prepares year-end audit schedules for Endeavor Health and other affiliates as assigned by the prescribed deadlinesPerform other duties as assigned.What you will need:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, Business Administration, or related fieldCertification:
CPA or MBA strongly preferredExperience:
minimum 5-10 years' experience in accounting/finance fieldUnique or Preferred Skills:Strong knowledge of grant accounting principle, including Uniform Guidance and other relevant regulations.Have a comprehensive knowledge of GAAPPossess strong communication, organizational, technology and leadership skillsExtensive experience with an ERP, Workday preferredWorkday Grant work stream Experience is a PLUSProficiency with Excel and/or other spreadsheet and database applications is required.Benefits:
