Overview:
The Purchasing Manager is responsible for managing and coordinating all aspects of procurement for materials and/or services at PACE Supply. This role includes overseeing the activities and operations of the purchasing department and its staff. The Purchasing Manager develops and implements procurement strategies aligned with the company's goals, working closely with internal stakeholders to understand requirements and ensure efficient purchasing processes. Key responsibilities include identifying and developing relationships with suppliers, managing supplier contracts, and ensuring compliance with relevant policies and regulations. The Purchasing Manager leads and motivates a team of purchasing professionals, sets clear goals, provides feedback, and monitors performance to drive efficiency and effectiveness in the purchasing process.Responsibilities:Supervisory ResponsibilitiesHires, trains, supervises, motivates, and develops purchasing department staff; manages schedules and workflow.Assigns duties and monitors quality of work; assures staff conforms to organizational policies and procedures and government regulations.Provides day-to-day guidance and oversight of subordinates; actively works to promote and recognize performance.Keeps up to date on overall activities of the team, identifying problem areas and taking corrective actions.Logistics & Inventory ManagementObtain purchasing specifications for programs.Support the development and communication of all aspects of procurement plan; assist in establishing, communicating, and implementing long-term goals for the department to promote effectiveness and efficiency.Monitors inventory position against sales forecast and customer orders to maintain acceptable safety stock levels.Assist in strategically critical projects focusing on total cost reduction, key supplier relationships, commodity focus, and supplier consolidation.Purchase Order Management
Support and provide accurate job costing process from start to finish.Determine purchase requirements and generate purchase orders.Provide detailed analysis of purchased goods through required reports.Utilize MIS, Blueridge, and Phocas to increase order processing efficiency.Review and act on messages daily to address inventory-related issues promptly.Vendor & Inventory Management
Monitor inventory position against sales forecasts and customer orders.Maintain acceptable safety stock levels.Provide supporting bid documentation such as site maps, photos, and spreadsheets.Maintain PACEs vendor evaluation program, reporting on on-time delivery, quality, and responsiveness.Working closely with the company legal department to make sure contracts and terms are favorable.Compliance & Policy Development
Act within established objectives and policies to accomplish assigned goals.Enforce all policies, rules, regulations, and procedures set by the organization.Ensure compliance with government regulations and corporate policies and procedures.Communication & Collaboration
Work closely with sales and operations to develop a scope of work for projects that are both large and small.Represent the organization to customers, associates, and leadership as needed.
