Job Summary:
Epirus is seeking an experienced Industrial Security Specialist / Assistant Facility Security Officer (AFSO) to provide the capability for the submission, tracking, and maintenance of Personnel Security Clearances via the National Background Investigation Services (NBIS) and the Defense Information System for Security (DISS). This role will also assist with classified document control for incoming and outgoing classified material and courier briefings, and other duties as needed (Fingerprints, metrics, briefings). The ideal candidate has experience working within the defense industry and can perform well in a fast-moving, startup environment.
* This role is open as an Associate Industrial Security Specialist or Industrial Security Specialist*Responsibilities:Assist with implementing and adhering to the policies, practices, and procedures of the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM), company policies, Security practices, and procedures (SPP).Perform program security administrative tasks and duties (e.g., maintain/create filing and tracking systems, update logs/lists, ensure secure program areas are set up and appropriately supplied to meet program needs, coordinate with internal and external customers to include Information Systems, Mission Assurance, Insider Threat, Physical Security, Access Control, as required).Assist with staff assistance visits, security reviews, and inspections.Responsible for incoming visitor tracking system, visual compliance, and coordinating approval notifications to security guards.Provide amazing support to both internal and external customers:Attend, support, and participate in program meetings, staff meetings, and telecons.Respond to walk-in customers and perform ad hoc security services as needed.
Maintain accountability of controlled documents and media to include active inventory lists and container audits, destruction receipts, and transfer of documentation.Ensure personnel in secure areas have the necessary clearances; prevent prohibited items from entering secure areas and prevent controlled documents and/or media from exiting the secure areas without approval.Develop/conduct formal initial and recurring security education and training materials/events.Prepare and administer program indoctrination and debriefings.Review SF86's, Local Records Checks in support of adjudication process.Maintain PERSEC database by NISPOM and DoDM tracking requirements.Assist with SAPs to include support development, review, and maintenance of program security documentation for SAP.Perform initial access eligibility determinations, process Pre-Screening Questionnaires, and create PARs and SCI nominations for assigned programs.Process incoming and outgoing classified visit certifications.Conducted internal self-inspections and assisted with staff assistance visits and customer security assessments.Basic Qualifications:
3-5 years' experience as an Industrial Security Specialist.Top-notch collaboration and interpersonal skills.Strong oral and written communication skills.Knowledgeable of applicable Department of Defense policies, instructions, and manuals pertinent to special access program security.Knowledge of 32 CFR Part 117 and the policies and processes applicable to obtaining and maintain facility clearances.Must hold a current, in-scope U.S. Secret security clearance with TS/SCI eligibility or the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.25% travel as neededPreferred Skills and Experience:3-5 years experience as an Assistant Facility Security Officer (AFSO) or Facility Security Officer (FSO), Assistant Contractor Program Security Officer (ACPSO), or Contractor Program Security Officer (CPSO).Completion of the FSO Program Management for Possessing Facilities curriculum or able to complete it within the first six months of employment.Ability to prioritize and multi-task with minimal supervisionAbility to work in a fast-paced environmentCOMSEC experienceExperience with Envoy Visitor Management SystemITAR REQUIREMENTS:

As required by the Equal Pay Transparency Act, Epirus provides a reasonable range of minimum compensation for roles that may be hired. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location.
For the state of California only, the range of starting pay for this role is:
$72,800-$113,000 USD
