Work Agreement: 170 Student Days

Daily Route Pay: $150 per day (max. 4 hours of driving daily routes)

Attendance Stipend: $400 per month when driving 90% of assigned routes per month

Activity Pay: $25 per hour; includes drive and sit time

Activity Stipend: $100 per 10 activities driven

Crete Public Schools is seeking applications for Bus Drivers to begin August 1, 2024. This part-time position reports on student days and/or when activity routes are requested. This position is considered open until filled.

Essential Requirements :

Must possess a valid Nebraska drivers license with a CDL or able to obtain a CDLSatisfactory driving recordNo history of child abuse or negligenceWorks well on a team with various personalitiesHigh degree of flexibility and adaptabilityHigh level of professionalism and interpersonal skillsRegular, dependable attendance on the jobJob Tasks:

Drives a school transportation vehicle within a prescribed route(s) in accordance with time schedulesPicking up and discharging students at designated stopsTransport students and teacher on field trips to various locations; planning necessary route(s) and stops as neededOperate transportation software to scan student badgesOperate two-way radioComply with federal, state, and School District policies, procedures, and regulationsMaintains order an proper discipline of student passengers according to district policyConduct safety and operational inspection of assigned vehicle dailyReports needed mechanical repairs when necessaryServices buses with gas, diesel fuel, and oil; checks and when necessary fills tires and batteriesPerforms periodical safety drills as required by law; completing necessary reports upon requestMaintains cleanliness of vehicle to ensure safe operating conditionCompletes periodic mileage and other reports including passenger countsAttends various meetings regarding safety, first aid and training updates as requiredAttends driver training programs to maintain current knowledge of Nebraska Motor Vehicle Code and the Education Code as it applies to the operation of vehicles in the transportation of school childrenWashes bus as neededPerforms related duties as requiredOther Responsibilities:

Perform other tasks or duties as assigned by the supervisor.

At-Will Position:

This position is an "at-will" position and may be terminated, with or without cause, at any time at the sole discretion of the Superintendent or Superintendent's designee.
