OverviewScope of Responsibilities:
Oversight responsibility for the accounting departments of the company.
Responsible for training, development and conducting performance reviews of subordinate staff, estimating personnel needs, assigning work, meeting completion dates, interpreting and ensuring consistent application of organizational policies.
Job Summary : Responsible for the supervision and coordination of all accounting activities of the company. Involves development, preparation, analysis, interpretation and maintenance of corporate accounting records, and financial reports.
Location- - This position can be based in either Gouverneur or East Syracuse, NY.
This is not a remote opportunity.
ResponsibilitiesJob Duties:
Direct supervision for the General Ledger & Accounts Receivable departments
Develop for approval by Controller, accounting standards and procedures to assure uniform accounting practices, adequate internal controls, and compliance with statutes and regulations issued by local and federal governments.
Prepare and maintain corporate financial, accounting, and statistical records.
Provide oversight for new business opportunities and making sure all accounting transactions are recorded according to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
Responsible for preparation of balance sheet account reconciliations
Develop and monitor all procedures describing the manner in which financial accounting transactions are to be recorded and reported by the company.
Provide direction, coordination, and advice to departmental managers in their financial procedures for general accounting and billing procedures.
Apply modern internal control principles and techniques in developing accounting control reports.
Assist in the development of an annual departmental budget.
Coordinate, and oversee financial audits initiated by State and Federal Agencies as well as KPH employed auditing companies.
Oversee preparation of all financial transactions and reporting for the Kinney Drugs Foundation.
Coordinate team monthly staff meetings.
Review accuracy of Monthly Profit and Loss Statements.
Oversee maintenance of fixed asset records regarding fixtures, leasehold improvements, company owned vehicles and building information.
Responsible for the assessment, evaluation and implementation of technologies needed to maximize efficiencies within supervised departments.
Responsible for completing all mandatory and regulatory training programs.
Perform other duties as assigned.
QualificationsEducation:
Minimum: BA, BS or higher in accounting or related
Experience:
Preferred: 5 years previous accounting supervisory experience.

Initial and continuous exclusion and sanction/disciplinary monitoring

Driver’s License Verification
Compensation
$75,000-80,000 per year.
The final offer will be determined after careful consideration of multiple factors such as relevant skills, years of experience and education.
