JOB SUMMARY

Reporting directly to the Animal Services Assistant Manager, responsible for front-desk operations and customer service at the Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter (WCRAS). Level I of II in Animal Services Specialists.THIS POSITION IS FUNDED TO BEGIN ON/AFTER OCTOBER 1, 2024.EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED

Performs front-desk reception and customer serviceProcesses intake of stray, owner-surrendered, community cats, and rabies-quarantine animalsReviews animal microchip data: may contact microchip company, veterinarian and/or registered pet owners to facilitate returnRecords documentation of animal health, behavior, medication, and vaccination statusReviews and processes applications and provides counseling for adoptions and fostersProcesses payments, issues receipt and balances a cash drawerPerforms data entry and maintains electronic documentation filesReceives and distributes deliveries of supplies and donationsPerforms janitorial duties to maintain the administrative areas of the shelterFollows all safety measures and policies, including proper animal restraints and reading animal behavioral cues, and promptly reports any safety incidents to leadershipPerforms special duties as assignedORGANIZATION RELATIONSHIPS

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Position involves prolonged sitting at a workstation, reaching, walking, twisting, bending, repetitive motions and standingPosition involves lifting and carrying of animals and equipment up to twenty-five (25) pounds, and exertion of up to twenty-five (25) pounds of force to move objectsAbility to hear and/or see alert cues regarding animal and staff security
