The School supports the University’s urban mission by responding to the health needs of individuals, families, groups, and populations in urban communities. The UWM James and Yvonne Ziemer Clinical Simulation Center provides a state-of-the-art learning facility where students will practice clinical skills in a safe environment. The simulation center houses several labs, including a birthing room, an apartment, clinic rooms, and other areas to provide simulated learning experiences.

UWM School of Nursing offers a Bachelor of Science (BS), Master of Nursing (MN), Master of Sustainable Peacebuilding ( MSP ), Doctor of Nursing Practice ( DNP ) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree programs. UW-Milwaukee offers the BS in Nursing at UWM and UW-Parkside through a consortial partnership. Students are placed in clinical sites throughout Southeastern Wisconsin.

Job Summary

Working within the UWM James and Yvonne Ziemer Clinical Simulation Center, the Simulation Center Operations Coordinator supports all clinical learning lab and simulated patient care learning experiences for the College of Health Professions and Sciences faculty, staff and students and its partners. The Simulation Center Operations Coordinator manages the programming of the daily simulations and skill laboratories in the Simulation Center assisting the Simulation Center Director and working closely to address the needs of instructional staff, students and researchers. This position oversees operational needs ensuring space is scheduled, prepared with necessary supplies and equipment for the activity and students and staff have access to supplies and equipment necessary for practice and training. The Simulation Center Operations Coordinator manages the purchasing of supplies and equipment, tracks inventory and manages, hires and trains the Simulation Center student staff.

Work will be performed primarily on the UW-Milwaukee campus.

Minimum Qualifications

3+ years of operations, scheduling, and/or administrative roles.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 applications (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint) and operating a variety of office equipment.

Supervisory experience (recruiting, interviewing, scheduling, training, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree, preferably in healthcare administration, healthcare, education, business, or a related field.

Experience with specialized software programs.

Experience managing inventory and supplies.

Prior work experience in academic or healthcare settings.

Effective communication skills as demonstrated in application materials.

Target Salary Range Minimum starting wage of $23.40/hr. Final salary offer will be contingent upon the knowledge, skills, and abilities demonstrated throughout the selection process.
