Position Summary
CVS Health is seeking a tax professional with the ability to navigate and collaborate with multiple stakeholders in a large and complex organization.
The Tax Manager will be an integral part of the tax function and report to the Senior Tax Manager, Tax Provision and Forecasting. This position will play a crucial role in assisting with the quarterly and annual income tax provision and Federal tax compliance processes. This role requires strong technical knowledge of ASC 740 and the ability to effectively communicate complex tax issues to both finance and non-finance stakeholders. This role will also be involved with new strategic initiatives and participate in resolving complex technical issues.
Responsibilities:
Assisting the management team with planning and managing ASC 740 quarterly and annual processes; including deferred tax asset/liability calculations.
Prepare quarterly and annual income tax provisions and related disclosures in accordance with ASC 740.
Prepare tax account reconciliations.
Assist with forecasting the effective tax rate, tax accounts and cash flow.
Monitor and model out developments in GAAP and US tax law that impact the tax accounting process.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather necessary information and documentation for tax calculations.
Assist in Federal and State tax compliance preparation process.
Assist with tax planning and strategy development to optimize tax positions and minimize tax liabilities.
Support ongoing projects and business initiatives and assist with special projects as requested.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
Minimum 5+ years of experience in corporate tax in public accounting and/or industry.
Strong ASC 740 experience as well as experience in corporate tax planning and compliance.
Preferred Qualifications
Broad understanding and experience with federal and state income taxation.
Experience with Subpart F, GILTI, FTC and other international taxation is a strong plus.
Strong accounting, analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills.
High-level of energy, enthusiasm and desire to grow your career.
Ability to communicate clearly, accurately, and tactfully, both verbally and in writing. Ideally able to communicate complicated tax issues in a way that is easily understood by business partners and internal stakeholders.
Ability to work productively with a high degree of independence and with accuracy and high attention to detail, while knowing when to seek guidance or assistance.
Experience with Corporate Tax provision and/or compliance software.
Experience with S4 HANA or similar ERP systems.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field; CPA preferred
Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$66,330.00 - $145,860.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
