Eskenazi Health serves as the public hospital division of the Health & Hospital Corporation of Marion County. Physicians provide a comprehensive range of primary and specialty care services at the 327-bed hospital and outpatient facilities both on and off of the Eskenazi Health downtown campus as well as at 10 Eskenazi Health Center sites located throughout Indianapolis.

Job Role Summary
This PRN occupational therapist will be an integral part of the multidisciplinary team in the Richard M. Fairbanks Burn Center at Eskenazi Health. The burn occupational therapist will work with other rehab team members, physicians, nurses, and case management in an inpatient or outpatient setting to provide comprehensive burn care to patients following a burn injury with the goal of restoring function and preventing disability. In addition to general inpatient or outpatient skills, the burn occupational therapist will utilize a variety of manual treatment techniques to contribute to patient healing and to optimize functional gains. This position provides the opportunity to advance skills in a dynamic, specialty setting that promotes ongoing learning and professional growth.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Evaluation
Adapts evaluation appropriately based on the age and cultural background of patient.Reviews medical history and adjust clinical decisions based on informationCompletes thorough and effective evaluationAdministers appropriate standardized and non-standardized assessmentsDevelops age appropriate and reasonable plan of careSets reasonable and appropriate client-centered goals
Treatment:
Adapts treatment appropriately based on the age and cultural background of patientImplements appropriate and timely treatment based on evaluation of patients' physical and psychosocial needsProvides client-centered educationTreatments are creative and effective
Documentation:
Accurately and timely documents patient evaluation and treatment per documentation standardsObtains appropriate signaturesJustifies charges, reflects skilled therapeutic need, functional improvement and progress towards goals
Productivity:
Works at or above established productivity levelVolunteers to take walk-in patientsVolunteers to float to other teams as neededAdjusts schedule according to caseload
Administrative:
Completion of ancillary tasks that affect patient careE-learning and other assigned tasks are completed by the required due dates without remindersAuthorization requests and insurance requirements are submitted without delaying patient care

Job Requirements
-Active Indiana Occupational Therapy license or eligibility for licensure
-Previous experience in an acute care or outpatient healthcare setting preferred
-Previous burn experience is not necessary
-Current BLS certification
