The Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) Lead will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing the Company's WMS system. The position acts as a first line of response for system issues. The position works with the Supply Chain Management Division, Logistics HQ, and Branch offices to ensure optimal configurations for WMS conversions, enhancements, and new business requirements.
Responsible for overseeing the daily operations and maintenance of the WMS software ensuring that the system is up to date and properly configured and addressing any technical issues that may arise. Responsible for training warehouse staff on the WMS system. This includes but is not limited to creating user manuals and training materials, conducting workshops, and offering ongoing support to address user queries or issues. You will be at the forefront of developing a group of WMS super users who can help lead the delivery of the training programs. Monitor and manage inventory levels within the WMS system. Track inventory metrics, stock movement, cycle counts, and generate reports to enhance inventory accuracy and efficiency. Identify and implement process improvements within the warehouse operation through the WMS. Monitor and analyze data and metrics to streamline processes, reduce errors, and enhance efficiency. Provide analytical reports around the WMS system to provide insight into warehouse performance. This may include metrics such as order fulfillment rates inventory turnover and accuracy. Support and resolve any technical or operational issues related to the WMS promptly to minimize disruptions to warehouse operations. Collaborate with logistics, IT, and other divisions to ensure seamless integration of WMS with other systems and optimize warehouse operations with overall business goals. Coordinate with external partners to support WMS system configuration to drive performance optimization. Ensure that the WMS system complies with industry regulations and company policies regarding data security, privacy, and operational standards. Lead and manage various projects related to WMS including but not limited to system upgrades, implementation, and integration with other systems. Stay updated with emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in WMS technology and make recommendations for system enhancements and process optimizations. Experience/ Training/ Education
Bachelor's in supply chain, Logistics, Operations, or relevant on-the-job years of experience. 5 + years of experience developing and implementing warehouse management systems. Supply chain management, warehousing, and distribution experience Experience in project management of large cross-functional implementations Implementation, upgrade, and/or support experience with WMS system. Experience using formal systems development methodologies and project management practices. Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) is preferred. Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) or vendor-specific WMS certifications are preferred. Knowledge, Skills, Ability
Proficiency in using WMS software is essential. Knowledge of specific WMS platforms such as SAP EWM, Oracle WMS, Manhattan Associates, or others relevant to the employer's system is often preferred. Knowledge of inventory management systems, barcode scanners, RF devices, and other warehouse technology. Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to warehouse operations and ensuring compliance. Proven knowledge and skill in leading and implementing process improvements. Possess an entrepreneurial spirit and continuously innovate to achieve great results. Strong leadership and supervisory skills to manage warehouse staff effectively. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with team members, other departments, and external stakeholders. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to address issues that arise in warehouse operations promptly. Data analysis skills and strong experience with Power BI or similar BI solutions are a strong plus. Ability to delegate tasks, motivate team members, and resolve conflicts. Excellent organizational abilities to coordinate and optimize warehouse operations. Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in inventory management and shipping/receiving processes. Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders. Analytical thinker: demonstrated ability to synthesize complex data into simple, compelling recommendations for improvement. Ability to effectively communicate with the team and business partners both written and verbally. Ability to handle multiple high-priority tasks. Ability to meet scheduling needs which may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Flexible and adaptable with a schedule that could include nights, working required holidays, and weekends with occasional after-hours requirements. Ability to speak, write, and read English. Working Conditions:
Works in offices close to those of top management. Generally, works forty hours per week; however, some work shifts or extended hours during busy periods. When schedules change and problems arise, working under pressure is unavoidable, but deadlines and goals must still be met. Due to system maintenance or WMS-related support, may be required to be on-call on an irregular work schedule, including weekends, early mornings, evenings, and holidays. Incumbents may occasionally travel to other branch offices as needed.
