Sanitation Associate

+-----------------------------------------------------------------------+ | Job Summary | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------+ | TheSanitation Associate sanitizes all equipment in the plant in | | compliance with customer specifications and with company policy and | | procedures related to proper sanitation, GMP and Safety requirements. | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------+ | Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------+ | - Sanitizes equipment using chemicals and power washers. | | - Disassembling production equipment. | | - Inspect equipment to assure sanitation requirements are met. | | - Read chemical labels to ensure safe applications. | | - Manually scrub certain areas of machines using brushes or scrub | | pads. | | - Cleaning and maintaining the interior and exterior of the plant, | | including but not limited to floors, walls, ceilings, overhead | | pipes and fixtures as well as the equipment used in the | | preparation/packaging/transfer of raw materials and finished | | goods. | | - Comply with all company policies, rules and regulations regarding | | safety, personal hygiene (GMPs), operational methods and food | | safety guidelines. | | - Must be willing and able to work in any area of the plant and | | in/around the campus to assist in cleaning as needed. | | - Must report any food safety issues, discrepancies, suggestions | | and/or complaints to your supervisor immediately. | | - Must have the ability to work around and clean a variety of | | ingredients, including allergens. | | - This position is also called upon to perform other duties not | | specifically outlined in this posting. | | - Reliable and regular transportation and attendance. | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------+ | Education and Experience | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------+ | - Prior experience in food manufacturing highly preferred. | | - Experience and knowledge in food sanitation operations, | | procedures, chemicals and program standards, preferably in a | | general food or manufacturing industry. | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------+ | Skills and Abilities | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------+ | - A working knowledge of food technology, food science, | | microbiology or chemistry preferred. | | - Understanding of pathogens and other food contaminants. | | - Understanding of modes of control of various sanitation chemicals | | and physical cleaning. | | - Communication (written and verbal) and organizational skills. | | - Must be able to understand instructions in English, or with the | | use of a translator | | - Must be able to complete assigned training with or without the | | use of a translator. | | - Must be able to work in a facility that processes food allergens. | | - Regular attendance and ability to work overnight shift and | | weekends, mandatory. | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------+ | Working Environment and Physical Demands | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------+ | While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly | | required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to fingers; handle; and feel; | | reach with hands and arms; climb; balance; stoop; kneel; crouch; or | | crawl; and talk and hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or | | move up to 50 pounds. The employees are regularly exposed to wet and/or humid | | conditions, moving mechanical parts and high, precarious places; | | extreme heat and cold. While employee is performing regular duties | | they are also exposed to possible risk of electrical shock.
