Reporting to the Controller, the Senior Accountant supports the implementation, maintenance, and review of corporate policies and internal controls, assists with technical accounting research related to new and proposed accounting standards, and manages the general ledger. The Senior Accountant will perform the following -

Essential Responsibilities & Duties

Reconcile and maintain balance sheet and general ledger accounts.Contribute to an accurate and timely month end close process, including preparation of journal entries.Assist with monthly/quarterly/yearly internal reporting requirements and analyses.Support and assist with the internal and external audit functions.Recording and managing leases in lease software and creating related journal entries ensuring compliance with ASC 842.Participate in merger and acquisition due diligence and integration.Liaise with tax accountants to track tax payments/returns and prepare sales and use tax returns.Analyze, research, and recommend new and proposed accounting, reporting, and disclosure standards.Audit corporate financial procedures and processes for compliance and recommend improvement and efficiencies.Implement and maintain reporting procedures to comply with internal control requirements.Pricing compliance, including public agency submittals, and supporting preparation of audited overhead rates.Participate in other projects as required.Minimum Qualifications

Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, preferably in a professional services firmBachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required, Master’s in Accounting, Finance, MBA, or CPA a plus.Working knowledge of GAAP and tax regulations.Thorough knowledge of accounting and financial procedures.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office product, particularly Excel Pivot tables, Lookups, Power Pivots.Strong data input, query, and report generation capabilities with enterprise software such as Deltek, Oracle, SAP, or BST required.

Experience with BST is preferred.International experience, specifically in Canada preferred.Merger and acquisition experience a plus.We are GEI.
