Summary:

The Loan Closer is responsible for performing a variety of complex clerical, analytical, and customer service functions related to consumer, residential, and bank loans. This position supports loan operations in alignment with established standards and assists management as required.

Key Responsibilities:Thoroughly understand loan documentation requirements for Real Estate and Consumer lending departments.Prepare loan documentation using Mortgagebot and LaserPro systems, including but not limited to the Application (1003), Transmittal Summary (1008), Loan Estimates, and all closing documents. Will also order verbal VOE's and written along with deposit verifications.Ensure compliance with TRID requirements by completing Loan Estimates and Closing Disclosures accurately and within required timeframes.Order credit and/or flood reports as necessary.Submit loans to the underwriting department when required, and communicate with Loan Officers, Loan Assistants, and underwriters to complete the file.Possess general knowledge and understanding of Title Commitments.Collaborate with Title Companies to complete the Closing Disclosure and calculate the funding amount for loan closings.Open Loan Savings Accounts and manage debits and credits related to loan funding.Responsible for calculating, tracking, and processing loan payoffs.Perform account maintenance and assist with both internal and external loan-related inquiries.Assist with credit bureau research when necessary.Prepare discharges, partial releases, subordination agreements, and lien releases.Prepare and mail denial letters to applicants when applicable.Provides ongoing communication with lender, loan assistants and title companies to ensure file accuracy and completeness.Input loan information into the core system, Fiserv Premier Navigator.Stay up to date with current regulations and upcoming changes in the loan industry.Maintain knowledge of security and emergency procedures, including robbery, extortion, bomb threats, fire, power failure, and tornado/take-cover protocols.Promptly report any suspicious customer or employee activity to the Bank Security Officer. Failure to do so may result in termination.Perform other tasks as assigned.Supervisory Responsibilities:

Qualifications:

In-depth understanding of loan application policies and procedures, as well as documentation required by underwriters and government agencies.Strong organizational and analytical skills.Excellent communication skills to effectively liaise with internal teams, potential, and existing customers. Must be able to follow both oral and written instructions.Proficient in basic math skills with the ability to calculate simple to complex factors as needed.Ability to maintain composure and professionalism during high-activity periods, while effectively managing multiple tasks.Strong proofreading and editing skills for accuracy in documentation.Capable of troubleshooting and developing solutions to customer issues in a timely manner.Proficient in the use of office equipment, including telephone, computer, calculator, fax, typewriter, and reference materials.Familiarity with Windows-based software is required.Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent is required. 5-7 years of experience in processing or related field preferred.

Work Environment:

The work environment involves general office conditions. The employee may experience sustained moderate to high activity levels with multiple tasks being performed concurrently. Communication with various internal and external stakeholders may occur under both favorable and challenging circumstances. The noise level in the work environment is typically minimal.
