Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled
EPIC Application Coordinator – HIM
to join our healthcare IT team. This position will focus on the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of EPIC's Health Information Management (HIM) module. The EPIC Application Coordinator will work closely with HIM and IT teams to ensure that the EPIC system meets the operational and compliance needs of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the primary liaison between the HIM department, clinical staff, and IT to ensure the EPIC HIM module is configured to meet organizational requirements.
Manage the design, build, testing, and deployment of system changes, updates, and new functionalities in the EPIC HIM application.
Collaborate with HIM teams to analyze workflows and develop system configurations that enhance productivity, compliance, and accuracy in managing health records.
Perform system troubleshooting and resolve issues, ensuring the smooth operation of the EPIC HIM module.
Create and maintain detailed system documentation, including workflows, configurations, and troubleshooting guides.
Ensure the EPIC system complies with healthcare regulations, including HIPAA, Joint Commission standards, and other regulatory requirements.
Provide ongoing training and support to end-users, including HIM staff, clinicians, and other healthcare professionals, to optimize the use of the EPIC system.
Collaborate with other EPIC analysts and departments to align system functionality with organizational goals.
Participate in system upgrades and new EPIC module implementations, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems.
Requirements:
EPIC HIM Certification
required.
Bachelor’s degree
in Healthcare Information Systems, Health Information Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Minimum of 2-3 years of experience working with EPIC systems, specifically in the HIM module.
Strong understanding of HIM workflows, including document management, coding, and release of information.
Knowledge of healthcare regulations, including HIPAA and other compliance standards.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot system issues effectively.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with both technical and non-technical staff.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in a healthcare setting, particularly in HIM or medical records departments.
Experience with other EPIC modules or additional EPIC certifications.
Knowledge of regulatory standards related to health information management and medical records.
