This position serves as a support specialist within the Network Support Section in the Bureau of Departmental Systems (BDIS) at the Florida Department of State (Department). Responsible for audio visual services and proactive network system health measures.Assists with installing, configuring, and working on the Department's local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN) including the Florida Voter Registration System (FVRS) WAN, and wireless access points.Maintain network hardware and software. Proactively monitor network and perform necessary maintenance/remediation to ensure network availability.Responsible for all audio video services across the Department. Applies advanced knowledge of wired and wireless audio equipment, visual displays, lighting, cameras, and projectors to ensure error free events.Operates equipment to record, edit, and transmit audio and video. Monitor sound and video feeds to ensure quality. Keeps all audio visual hardware and software up to date. Coordinates with division staff to organize and plan events, walk throughs and after-event debriefs.Applies advance knowledge of TCP/IP and VOIP to troubleshoot network and telephony problems and outages. Maintains network technologies, especially relating to Cisco network switches, Meraki wireless access points, F5 Load Balancers, Palo Alto Firewalls, and VOIP telephony systems. Collaborates with network architects on network optimization; design, setup, configure and support complex software for upgrading and maintaining network and telecommunication systems.Serves as one of the primary points of contact with the Supervisors of Elections office in each of the 67 counties within the State of Florida to ensure network connectivity and communications with the FVRS.Performs other work-related duties as required.Maintains consistent and reliable attendance and complies with agency guidelines on attendance. This position is designated to serve in an on-call status. When activated, the incumbent must respond to the call within 15 minutes, and if necessary, arrive on-site within 1 hour.CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECKS:
