JOB SUMMARY:

This advanced-level position involves independently handling complex assignments with limited supervision, where errors can significantly impact productivity. Employees apply a logical understanding of business practices to analyze and resolve specialized problems, requiring skills in data interpretation and equipment usage for sound conclusions. Key responsibilities include installing, configuring, and supporting DOR's LAN, WAN, VoIP, and Internet systems, as well as maintaining network hardware and software to ensure availability. Incumbents conduct research and development in distributed processing technologies, coordinate with ISP management for hardware and service acquisitions, and ensure that equipment aligns with the distributed processing plan. They interface with state agencies to ensure compatibility with objectives and security requirements, document team standards and procedures, and implement operational plans while reporting on work statuses. Additionally, they serve as IP network administrators, overseeing the configuration and maintenance of network systems, including IPSEC/VPN connectivity and other network platforms like Firewalls and Proxies, and are responsible for troubleshooting and resolving related issues.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Three years' experience of first contact/help desk/level 1 customer service.Experience conducting research into enterprise networking issues and products.Experience with enterprise-level LAN, WAN and WLAN engineering, design and implementation.Experience engineering firewalls, reverse proxies, routers, hubs, switches and access points.Experience with network capacity planning, network security principles and general network management best practices.PREFERENCES:

Emergency and Disaster-Related Duty: This position has been designated as a "mission essential" position pursuant to the Department of Revenue's Continuity of Operations Plan. The incumbent is required to be available to perform emergency or disaster-related duties due to an emergency or disaster impacting or threatening to impact the Department which may require the incumbent to work additional hours over and above the regular work schedule. Emergency or disaster-related duty may include performing or supporting the Department's mission essential functions, primary business functions or other activities related to emergency or disaster events or incidents.Will provide after hour support on nights and weekends as required.Anticipated salary of $54,543.14 annually.Position located in Tallahassee, Florida.

SALARY:

$51,815.88 - $57,270.36
