We are seeking an experienced Automation Manager to oversee and optimize our automation systems in the Manufacturing Case Ready Beef division. This role combines leadership with technical expertise to drive the execution of business plans, maintain daily automation operations, and support continuous improvement initiatives.Key Responsibilities:Execution of Business Plans:
Identify customer and operational needs.Develop and communicate business plans and priorities.Remove barriers impacting performance.Provide resources and develop contingency plans for adaptability and continuous learning.
Daily Operations Management:
Perform routine maintenance of automation systems.Upgrade and replace components and control systems.Monitor operations to identify and correct malfunctions promptly.
Support Quality and Continuous Improvement:
Ensure compliance with software licensing agreements.Manage and safeguard software media.Develop and maintain technology policies, standards, and procedures.Provide ongoing technical training to team members.
Maintain Automation Systems:
Ensure completion of routine maintenance.Update all network systems including servers, process controls, manufacturing networks, and business systems.Inspect, repair, and adjust PLCs, SCADA systems, HMIs, and related equipment.
Expertise and Development:
Provide expert advice and guidance.Support and align efforts to meet customer and business needs.Build commitment for perspectives and rationales.
Implementation of Business Solutions:
Build relationships with key stakeholders.Identify business needs and carry out necessary processes.Monitor progress and capitalize on improvement opportunities.Adapt to competing demands and organizational changes.
Compliance and Ethical Standards:
Model compliance with company policies and procedures.Support company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity.
Qualifications:Proven experience in automation management.Proficient in programming of Allen Bradley PLCs, SCADA systems, and HMIs.Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making skills.Ability to lead and develop a technical team.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.Benefits & Perks:Beyond competitive pay, you can receive incentive awards for your performance. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field OR Associate’s degree and 4 years’ experience working with automated systems in a manufacturing or distribution facility OR 5 years’ maintenance experience in industrial control system development and troubleshooting.Preferred Qualifications:Dairy, food processing or manufacturing environment requiring knowledge of industry and governmental regulations (for example, Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), Food and Drug Administration (FDA), U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)), Management experience including responsibility for budgeting, scheduling, and project planning and implementation, Programming and troubleshooting automated control systems (for example, integration, electronics, robotics, fiber optic sensors, pneumatic-hydraulic controls, touch panels, programmable logic controls (PLC), human machine interface (HMI)) and utilizing one-line and electrical schematic design, electrical equipment control, instrumentation, and configuration (for example, pump/Variable Frequency Drive, Allen Bradley, Factory Talk, Siemens, and B&R brand controllers and systems).Primary Location:20200 W 167th St, Olathe, KS 66062-0000, United States of America
