OVERVIEW:The Community Outreach Program Manager is responsible for overseeing the Outreach Specialists team and coordinating community outreach efforts. This role involves managing and developing outreach programs to identify and support homeless families, ensuring they receive necessary social services and secure permanent housing. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive experience in community outreach, and a deep commitment to supporting homeless populations. The Community Outreach Program Manager will work closely with the Director of Housing Programs to align outreach initiatives with the Coalition’s mission and objectives.QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's degree in human services, Public Administration, Social Work, or a related field preferred.At least 5 years of experience in community outreach or social services, with a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory role.Strong knowledge of homelessness issues and the Housing First model.Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.Experience working with HMIS and other data management systems.Bilingual candidates and veterans are strongly encouraged to apply.Must possess a valid driver's license and the ability to use a personal vehicle for daily duties with mileage reimbursement.PRIMARY DUTIES:Program Development and Management:
Develop and implement outreach programs to identify and support homeless families in the community.Coordinate and oversee the daily operations of the outreach team, ensuring effective service delivery.Establish and maintain relationships with community partners, service providers, and local Continuum of Care (CoC).Ensure that outreach practices align with the Coalition's mission and objectives.Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness, adjusting as needed to improve outcomes.
Team Leadership:
Provide supervision, support, and guidance to Outreach Specialists.Foster a collaborative and positive work environment that encourages professional growth and team development.Conduct regular team meetings to review progress, address challenges, and share best practices.Coordinate training and professional development opportunities for outreach staff.
Client Support and Advocacy:
Oversee the development of individualized service plans for clients, addressing barriers and supporting them in securing permanent housing.Ensure clients receive necessary support services, including assistance with obtaining identification, income verification, and other documentation.Advocate for clients' needs and work to connect them with appropriate resources and services.
Data Management and Reporting:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date client data in the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS).Prepare and submit regular reports on program outcomes, successes, and challenges.Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local guidelines and regulations.
Community Engagement:
Represent the Coalition at community events, meetings, and trainings.Conduct outreach to local businesses, service providers, and community groups to build partnerships and identify new opportunities for client support.Respond to community requests for outreach interventions and provide information about Coalition services.
Safety and Risk Management:
Develop and implement safety protocols for outreach activities.Ensure staff are trained and equipped to handle crisis situations and emergencies.
Additional Duties:
Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Housing Programs.
