Organization OverviewThe DC Coalition Against Domestic Violence (DCCADV) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizationdedicated to creating a community where domestic violence is replaced with human dignity.DCCADV is the federally recognized domestic violence coalition in the District of Columbia andserves as a resource for the thousands of adults and children experiencing domestic violenceeach year, as well as the local organizations that serve them. Our fundamental goals are toprovide leadership and support, build awareness, and enhance the systemic response tosurvivors of domestic violence and their children in Washington, DC. As the District is a city madeup people from many life experiences, and a city whose population historically has been amajority Black people, DCCADV has a commitment to ensure that our organization operates withvalues centered in Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging.Position SummaryTo ensure that the Coalition can efficiently and effectively support survivors of domestic violenceand the organizations that support them, under the direction of the Director of Grants andPrograms, the Training and Outreach Coordinator drafts curricula, facilitates domestic violencetrainings, and provides technical assistance on subjects and issues intersecting with domesticviolence to member programs, ally/community-based organizations, universities, governmentagencies, and other local stakeholders. Additionally, the Coordinator serves as the Coalition’srepresentative at various outreach events, public gatherings, work groups, and communityorganization meetings and coordinates DCCADV’s Language Access program. The ideal candidatefor this position enjoys the small stuff, but wants to make a big difference for survivors in DC inpartnership with the full DCCADV staff.Roles and ResponsibilitiesSpecific position responsibilitiesinclude but are not limited to:Coordinate, design curricula, facilitate, and evaluate trainings (virtual and in-person) formember programs, collaborating partners, government agencies, and businessesMaintain strong working relationships with DCCADV’s member programs and allyorganizations and represent DCCADV at community outreach and public educationevents (online and in-person)Coordinate andfacilitatesemi-annualDVACT (40-hourdomestic violenceadvocate training)Facilitate trauma informed care (four three-hour trainings per month) and DV101 (twothree-hour trainings per month) for homeless services organizationsCoordinate and advertise quarterly Advanced Training workshopsParticipate in work groupsfocused on intersecting issues and underserved populationsCoordinate language accessrequests, workingwith Coalition staff and community providersto obtain interpretation for Coalition meetings, trainings, and outreach eventsEngage DC public, private, and charter elementary, middle, and high schools to providetechnical assistance and training on healthy relationships and violence preventioneducation opportunitiesCoordinate national awareness month activities, including domestic violence awarenessmonth,stalking awareness month, and teen dating violence awareness monthIn partnership with other team members, oversee our annual holiday gift driveOther duties or tasks as assigned by DirectorRelated skills and experienceDemonstrated knowledge of the dynamics of domestic violence (also referred to asintimate partner, gender-based, family violence and/or domestic terrorism), itsprevalence, and community impactDemonstrated agreement and comfort with addressing the Coalition’s collective workthrough a racial and social justice lens—DCCADV recognizes that in order to truly addressand ultimately prevent domestic violence it is critical to address systemic and racialinequitiesCommitment to the eradication of gender-based violenceCommitment to accessibility, trauma informed care, and language justicePrevious experience working for a DC-based domestic violence service provider preferredand at least 3 to 5 years of in person and virtual training experience, including draftingcurricula and facilitation, preferably related to gender-based violenceExcellent communication, writing, and public speaking skillsStrong critical thinking and analyticalskillsProficient use of Windows operating system and programsAbility to work autonomously and as a team memberAbility to attend to multiple projects and tasks, with strong attention to detailCandidate must be organized and able to handle multiple projects and deadlinesAdditional InformationThe person filling thisrole must be willing to work a hybrid schedule, currently four days remoteand Thursdays in the office, and be able to travel in and around DC, Maryland, and NorthernVirginia for work purposesDCCADV employees are subject to Mayoral orders regarding vaccinations and maskingrequirements and will be expected to follow any subsequentmandates, as well as DCCADVpoliciesOccasional evening and weekend hours will be requiredSalary range for this position is $50,000 to $65,000 annually, commensurate with experienceBenefits Package IncludesHealth Insurance – The Coalition contributes towards employee health insurance plans withan increase contribution if a child is added to the policy. The coverage selected—from 16available health insurance plans—determines the employee cost of the premium.Life insurance – A life insurance policy is paid by the Coalition on behalf of each employee.Long- and Short-Term Disability Insurance – The plan will replace up to 60% of an employee’sweekly gross salary.Retirement – The Coalition offers a 403(b) plan and employees may immediately make 100%vested pre-tax contributions to the plan.
