The Data Governance Lead will be instrumental in establishing and maintaining data governance policies and procedures across the organization. Under limited supervision, you will provide comprehensive advanced level business and system solutions by creating frameworks for managing lineage, business glossary, data dictionary, data classification, data quality, and ensuring that data is used responsibly and efficiently. You will work closely with various stakeholders to build an internal network of data stewards/data owners to implement data governance practices that support current and future business objectives. Location: Plymouth, MN - Hybrid What you will do: Established subject matter expert for business customers and technical resources. Maintains awareness of business process and technology solution best practices within a specific business segment or multiple business segments Facilitates the collection, development and implementation of data governance policies and procedures, ensuring they are aligned with business objectives and are not overly bureaucratic. Identifies opportunities for process improvement Leads collection and analysis of possible project engagements, documenting project scope (objectives, deliverables, critical success factors, assumptions, global and regional considerations, and resource requirements), prioritization, cost/benefit, potential risks, and feasibility Demonstrates comprehensive business and technical knowledge in master data management (MDM) to lead activities with the appropriate level of customer engagement to ensure that customer interests are represented in all testing stages Conducts the production and review (from content to final draft) of user guides, training classes, and other end user documentation for a data catalog and data dictionary, providing clear definitions and standards for data use Collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure data governance practices are understood and followed. Alerts IT leadership when traceability appears weak, or is lost, and recommends a remedy. When changes to the requirements occur, leads impact analysis, and recommends follow-through actions Leads the development of a self-service analytics environment, promoting best practices and data literacy Oversee data quality assurance (DQA) initiatives, ensuring data is accurate and reliable Forges a network of beneficial relationships with all levels, emphasizing management, within IT organizations and the customers of IT in order to establish mutual trust and provide a foundation for high level project partnership. Leads the interaction with third parties including application service providers and partners Coordinates with the PMO and other departments to align data governance efforts with broader business goals Leads the preparation of documentation and presentations, chairs meetings, and delivers presentations while managing customer expectations at all levels, with emphasis on senior management Skillfully applies influence, negotiates, and mediates discussions needed to make progress towards achieving business goals and objectives.
