DevOps Engineer - Kubernetes

As part of their ongoing commitment to excellence and innovation, they are seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer - Kubernetes to join their team.
The Kubernetes Engineer will be responsible for the deployment, maintenance, and optimization of Kubernetes clusters across our infrastructure, including both cloud and on-premise environments.

Focus:
Deploy and configure Kubernetes clusters following industry best practices.
Monitor and ensure the stability, performance, and reliability of Kubernetes clusters.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Kubernetes infrastructure, including networking, storage, and resource utilization.
Implement security measures and ensure adherence to compliance standards within Kubernetes environments.
Automate deployment and management tasks using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or Ansible.
Collaborate with development and operations teams to optimize application deployments on Kubernetes.
Conduct periodic upgrades and patching of Kubernetes clusters to maintain up-to-date stable releases.
Engage in on-call support rotations and address incidents pertaining to the Kubernetes infrastructure.
Document processes, procedures, and configurations related to Kubernetes environments.
Stay informed on industry trends and emerging technologies related to Kubernetes and container orchestration.
Set up logging, alerting, and monitoring of clusters using tools such as Splunk and Prometheus.
Skill Set:
High School diploma or GED equivalent.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in a Kubernetes Engineer or similar role.
Proficiency in deploying, managing, and troubleshooting Kubernetes clusters in production settings.
Strong understanding of containerization technologies and concepts, particularly Docker.
Familiarity with monitoring and alerting tools such as Prometheus and Prometheus AlertManager.
Knowledge of visualization and dashboarding tools like Grafana.
Experience with container orchestration technologies including Kubernetes, Docker Swarm, or Apache Mesos.
Understanding of networking concepts and experience with container networking solutions (e.g., Cilium).
Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Go for automation purposes.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Experience with Kubernetes ecosystem tools like Helm and Kustomize.
Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and experience with tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Bitbucket CI.
Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or Puppet.
Experience with hybrid or multi-cloud Kubernetes deployments.
Understanding of DevOps principles and practices.
Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems (e.g., Red Hat or Ubuntu).
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact clearly with all departments and levels of management.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to meet multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Effective time management and task prioritization skills.
Professionalism and integrity in all interactions.
