Develop and maintain complex application code in various languages and environments. Analyze performance and application issues, working with customers and OIT (Office of Information Technology), recommending solutions and making changes to code as needed. Coordinate with OIT on deploying code changes into the Production Environment. Work in a team environment, supporting and assisting other developers.Research and develop reporting protocols and best practices, developing an expertise in integration between reporting tools, data transformation tools, and collaboration tools with applications. Perform ETL functions (extract, transform and load) to support reporting activities or to provide data to other entities. Create and update meta-data in support of reporting in accordance with FDOT policies and procedures. Perform analysis on data to support data quality by writing queries and reports. Create and deliver reports and graphs via portals and dashboards utilizing reporting languages. Create ad-hoc reports to perform data quality analysis, research application issues, and meet requests for customer support.Develop expertise in business processes and procedures. Lead business reengineering efforts during application logic changes. Provide end-user support on existing applications. Assist users with questions about how an application works. Research problems and communicate the resolution to users. Coordinate with OIT when deploying code to Production. Develop and continually foster a collaborative and professional relationship with internal and external customers. Effectively and proactively communicate with users. Create best practices documentation. Document application and report protocols and procedures.Analyze business needs and perform requirements gathering for enhancements to applications and reports. Facilitate meetings with the appropriate stakeholders documenting the requirements. Conduct impact analysis for changes initiated by other business areas or changes due to technology upgrades; coordinate and work with other offices as needed.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, or graduation/certification from a vocational school(s) in a program related to code or application development and four years of relevant employment experience in Information Technology. Post-graduate education from an accredited college or university in a field related to Information Technology may be substituted for employment experience on a year-per-year basis. Relevant professional experience in Application Development, Data Sciences, Database Development, or Business Analysis may be substituted for the required education.
