IT Contract Negotiator
to join our team working at the forefront of climate technology. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for negotiating and securing contracts with top IT vendors, contractors, and consultants to support our innovative projects aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions through cutting-edge technological solutions.Key Responsibilities:Identify and evaluate potential IT contractors, vendors, and consultants with expertise in areas such as renewable energy, energy efficiency, carbon capture, and other climate-related technologies.Work with the proponents to conduct thorough market research and analysis to understand current market rates, industry trends, and best practices in IT contracting.Negotiate favorable terms and conditions in agreements for Professional Services, Software and “X-as-a-Service”, data, other cloud services and other technologies, with selected contractors and vendors.Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, such as project managers, technical leads, and legal teams, to ensure that contracts align with project requirements and organizational policies.Manage and maintain a comprehensive database of IT contractors, vendors, and consultants, tracking performance, costs, and contract renewals.Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in climate technology, industry regulations, and procurement best practices to ensure effective negotiations and contract management.Identify opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, and risk mitigation in IT contracting and vendor management.Required Qualifications:Five or more years of increasingly responsible experience in negotiation of agreement for IT Professional Services, Software-as-a-Service, Data, Software, Hardware and Telecommunications.Demonstrable experience as an IT Contractor Negotiator responsible for negotiating both “commercial” and “legal” terms with minimal supervision and with a strong track record of successful negotiations and contract management.In-depth knowledge of IT contracting practices, legal frameworks, and industry standards.Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to understand complex technical requirements and translate them into contractual terms.Familiarity with climate change mitigation technologies, renewable energy systems, and sustainability initiatives is a plus.A minimum of Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as business administration, procurement, or information technology.A J.D. is preferred.Proficiency in using procurement software and tools.This role requires a highly skilled and experienced negotiator with a deep understanding of IT contracting and a passion for driving sustainable solutions through technology.
