This position is responsible for the operation, maintenance, development, security, and support for the College’s enterprise resources planning system (ERP) and other related business systems. In collaboration with colleagues within the assigned portfolio, this position will be responsible for writing database queries and other data query tools to assist in analyzing institutional data, and designs data integration solutions to support business practices.Specific Duties:Acquires and maintains an understanding of the technical and functional architecture of assigned systems and integrations.Provides expert technical support for the College’s ERP and assigned systems. Work may involve analysing and correcting functional issues, resolving technical problems, managing user accounts, and performing related tasks to support College operations.Performs software maintenance and testing on systems to ensure operational efficiency and evaluate system performance.Manages and maintains the computerized records through regular monitoring and analysis in order to ensure data integrity/security.Provides business process analysis, systems support, application lifecycle management, to meet evolving business needs and to facilitate integration.Supports business operations by providing technical assistance to departments, including researching, making recommendations, and implementing new system modules and software systems.Works as part of an inter-departmental team with Business Systems Analysts in other areas to support the institution-wide process development and ERP system support.Acts as the primary resource for the College’s ERP to ensure accurate processing of information.Prepares and maintains accurate and concise documentation related to the configuration and maintenance of all supported systems.Responsible for developing reports to support business operations and strategic decision-making activities.Ensures the functional aspects of assigned systems are set-up in compliance with college policies, service agreements, contracts, laws, and other regulations.Develops and communicates protocols, systems policies and training programs for the data administrative systems to ensure full utilization of tools and effective integration of applications.Develops and maintains custom workflows.Provides back-up support to other Business Systems Analyst positions, as required.Liaises and works closely with Information Technology Services (ITS) on projects related to Ellucian/SIS products, SQL reporting, ensuring peak optimization and utilization of systems and platforms.You will be part of a team actively engaged in contributing to and accomplishing the vision, mission, and goals of the College and in supporting the aspirations and needs of our learners.You will promote a positive work atmosphere by interacting and communicating in a professional manner that demonstrates mutual respect with students and colleagues.Other duties as assigned by designated Manager.Skills & Qualifications:Recognized two (2) year diploma in Computer Science, Information Systems or related technology field.3 years or more of recent related software support experience – preferably within a post-secondary environment; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.Experience with information systems, reporting systems, and complex relational database applications (e.g., Ellucian Colleague, Informer).Knowledge of post-secondary operations an asset.Proven analytical, diagnostic, decision-making, and problem-solving skills with the ability to think creatively and to find innovative solutions.Strong understanding of relational databases with experience in querying and report building.Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex material in a user-friendly way.Strong project management skills with the ability to systematically plan schedule and implement software.Excellent organizational skills and the ability to set priorities when encountering conflicting demands.Proficient in coding, understanding technical concepts, database interactions, and query languages. Knowledge of the server infrastructure, database management systems, web servers, and operating systems would be a strong asset.Strong ability to coach, support, work with and mentor individuals for different disciplines with varying degrees of technical experience.Ability to work independently as a member of a team – working harmoniously with others.Strong attention to detail and data entry skills.Ability to maintain confidentiality and privacy requirements.Ability to exercise tact, discretion, good judgement and diplomacy.Band:
