This product development team is responsible for end-to-end research, design, manufacture, and delivery of all beverage appliances for the At Home and Away from Home market segments. To support you on your journey, our facilities provide state-of-the-art technology, equipment, and workspaces.Working in a fast-paced and highly collaborative environment, the Product Attributes & Architecture Engineering Co-Op will work closely with Product Attribute Leaders to help develop strategy for the key product attributes of Performance and Craftsmanship, support the benchmarking of our own and competitive products from a beverage delivery perspective, and work on various product attribute continuous improvement projects.Shift/Schedule:The KDP 2025 Summer Co-op Program will run from July 9 - December 5, 2025Full-time; 40 hours per weekMonday-Friday8:00am until 5:00pmHybrid (T/W/Th in office)As a Product Attributes & Architecture Engineering Co-Op you will:Support Attribute Advanced Development and Innovation projectsSupport the development of key product attribute prototypes and the development of specifications for the Craftsmanship and Performance attributesDevelopment of new appliance and beverage testing methodsAnalyze testing data and consumer feedback to build new insightsDeveloping requirements and targets for new and existing appliances and beverage types

Craftsmanship topics may include Visual Acceptance Criteria, Gap variation studies – consumer perception translation to physical dimensionsPerformance topics may include: competitive benchmarking database refinement, development of new beverage testing and measurement methods, various data visualization optimization projects

Projects:The specific advanced development project(s) that the Co-Op will be involved in will be focused on active projects at the time of the internship.The Co-Op will be involved in architectural and product attribute knowledge gathering to support our planning processMajor Deliverables:Presentation that summarizes accomplishments over the Co-Op

Report-out on conclusions and next steps for owned project(s)Key insights gained from craftsmanship benchmarking conducted across internal and competitive productsOpportunities identified for continuous improvement

Opportunities for Learning:Develop skills pertaining to product designLearn about and apply Systems EngineeringRequirement and target development, trade space mapping and developmentExperience working in an advanced product development and innovation processUnderstanding the connection between Key Decisions, Knowledge Gaps, Activities and how they’re used in product developmentElements of the KDP Intern/Co-Op Program include:Engaging and partnering on innovative projects to gain experience in a challenging, cross functional team environmentParticipate in meet & greets and lunch & learns with KDP executives and other organization leadersReceive professional development training such as networking, professional skills development and presentingBe paired with a mentor to enhance your knowledge of other parts of the business and build your networkComplete a project from start to finish and present it and your takeaways to your team, department vice president and other KDP stakeholdersRequirements:Available to work 40 hours per week (M-F, 8am-5pm)Pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or similar with an interest in human centered designPassion for consumer productsAbility to collaborate with cross-functional team membersHands-on problem-solving skillsExperience with CAD (Solidworks preferred)Experience with Microsoft Office toolsWhat is preferred:Completed coursework in Fluid Mechanics or Heat TransferFamiliarity with FMEA process, primarily FMEA inputs (block diagrams, etc.)Experience with FEAExperience with plastics manufacturingExperience with data visualization leveraging various Python libraries or PowerBIExperience with the following programs: JMP, Jira, Labview, coding (Python, MATLAB, or similar), Confluence, Lucidchart/Visio, MS Project/SmartsheetPlease note: This position is limited to persons with permanent right to work in the United States.Total Rewards:$30.00/hourPaid bi-weekly$5,000.00 Sign-on Bonus, paid within first 30 days of employment
