Northrop Grumman Mission Systems Manufacturing Integration and Operations Support (MI&OS) organization has an opening for a Systems Engineering Manager 3.
The organization is looking for a strong leader to work across the sector to strategize, streamline, and standardize manufacturing processes and initiatives.
The position is responsible for standardizing manufacturing processes across the sector, leading manufacturing skills development, developing a comprehensive capital process for manufacturing and test, and leading a manufacturing facility strategy team.
The person hired for this position will develop and maintain relationships with other division functional homerooms, across sectors, and program customers to ensure inputs are incorporated into the overall manufacturing strategy.
Duties & Responsibilities
Standardize MRA/MRR and other manufacturing processes and initiatives
Manufacturing /OPM skills development and training
Develop and maintain a comprehensive capital process for manufacturing/test facilities to address bottlenecks, manufacturing build efficiency, product synergy, and capacity planning
Implement and lead a comprehensive strategy and authority for planning manufacturing and test facilities for all program life cycles (development, EMD, production, sustainment)
Establish, coordinate, and track common manufacturing metrics
Lead cross-sector and division teams
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related STEM discipline with a minimum of 9 years of experience in a manufacturing operations environment OR a Master’s degree in Engineering and 7 years of experience
Prior leadership experience leading people, projects, and/or programs across diverse technical and non-technical teams.
Prior leadership leading other people leaders
Strong communication and presenting skills
Demonstrated ability to lead a high performing team with a specific history of being able to create trusted relationships and an inclusive work environment that attracts, retains, and inspires diverse and engaged teams
Demonstrated ability to make complex critical decisions
Must have an active DoD Secret Security Clearance
Preferred Qualifications
Active Top Secret Security clearance
Program Management and Operations Program Management (OPM) experience
Capacity planning
Familiar with capital process
Earned Value, cost estimation, and analysis experience
Salary Range:
$172,500 – $258,700
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate’s experience, education, skills, and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays, and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
