Description
SUMMARY:
Responsibility for programming all multi-axis CNC machining equipment, verifying the programs are accurate, designing fixtures, identifying necessary cutting tools, and determining the best machining methods for parts.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reviews customer RFQ's, specification drawings, and other documentation to determine material requirements, cutting tools and fixtures required, and job routingConsolidates all outside and internal costs associated with process time in machining and finishing to create detailed quote packages for final review and presentation to customerParticipates in the planning/scheduling of parts to be machined to meet customer requestsPrograms CNC mills and lathes, creates set up sheets, designs fixtures and special cutting toolsCreates requisitions for new cutting tools needed to complete new parts or improve productivityPrograms and runs CNC equipment using Mastercam X5 and ProCam softwareCollaborates with General Manager, Production Leads, Production Manager, and CNC machinists to improve processes and quoting accuracyPlans machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, orthographic drawings, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T)Utilizes the ERP system to gather job cost data and assist the Management in analyzing internal costing trends and ensure future bids reflect current trends in costingInspects parts and changes or corrects process layouts for partsRuns machine diagnostics and helps diagnose down toolsMaintains safe operations by adhering to OSHA safety procedures and regulationsDocuments actions by completing production and quality logsIt is every employee's responsibility to be aware of and adhere to the applicable Safety & Health, Quality and Environmental Process of the CompanySUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:High School diploma or GED requiredMinimum of 5 years of experience programming CNC machines is requiredMust be able to read blueprintsMust have good mathematical skills.Proficient in Inventor or other CAD/CAM system.Proficient in Mastercam.SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Live tooling experience preferred.CNC Vertical Mills and Horizontal Mills.Knowledge of HAAS/FANUC controls preferred.Okuma experience preferred.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
