Today, the national security community and every branch of the military rely on Govini to enable faster and more informed Acquisition decisions.Job DescriptionWe are seeking highly motivated Senior Data Analysts to perform in-depth quantitative and qualitative analyses on problems of importance to U.S. national security. These problems include, for example, assessing risk within the Defense Industrial Base, isolating inefficiencies in business operations, and quantifying how investments drive performance outcomes and align with strategic aims. Senior Data Analysts are responsible for developing new methodologies to answer client questions, communicate data-driven insights to executives in the national security community, and oversee cross-functional teams to produce compelling data visualization, written papers, and briefings.In order to do this job well, you must be analytical, curious, driven to solve problems and have an impact. Senior Data Analysts at Govini have a firm understanding of how to use data to solve hard client problems. You have a quantitative mindset and understanding of the tools required to dig into data. You understand defense acquisition processes and the importance of effective and efficient program management. You have a professional acumen that allows you to lead conversations with top DoD and government agency officials. You know there are always multiple answers to hard problems, and you know how to engage in a constructive dialogue to find the best path forward.This role is a full-time position located out of our office in Arlington, VA.This role may require up to 25% travel.Scope of ResponsibilitiesOversee cross-functional teams of analysts to deliver innovative, novel, and high-quality analysis and drive improvements to Govini’s product offerings.Use quantitative tools to clean, manipulate, and synthesize multiple streams of unstructured data.Conduct quantitative analysis to establish objective and accurate views of business operations, producing valuable insights for customers and recommendations to improve performance.Orally and visually present data-driven findings in a concise and compelling manner to executives and government officials.Demonstrate subject matter expertise in key knowledge areas such as OSINT investigative analysis, Supply Chain Risk Management including IT-related SCRM (ICT SCRM), industrial base, manufacturing, & production areas, technology scouting and technology application, defense acquisitions and program management, government procurement, supplier assurance, federal contracting, and/or Planning, Programming, Budget, and Execution (PPBE).QualificationsU.S. Citizenship is required.Required Skills:Master’s Degree or Ph.D. in Economics, Mathematics, Data Science, Engineering, Computer Science, STEM field, or 2+ years of equivalent experience.Experience scoping and overseeing multiple, complex analytical projects.Proficiency with Python, R, SQL.Demonstrated leadership in national security-related analysis with teams of junior analysts, providing quality assurance, oversight or methodology, and mentoring.Excellent oral and written communication skills, experience presenting complex analysis to non-technical stakeholders and extracting the ‘so-what’ from the data.Referenceable history of exceptional performance in conducting innovative and high-quality analysis.Excellent professional demeanor with a willingness to work outside of your comfort zone in a fast-paced environment without hesitation.Desired Skills:Current possession of a U.S. security clearance, or the ability to obtain one with our sponsorship.Experience in or exposure to the nuances of a startup or other entrepreneurial environment.4-6 years experience performing national security-related analytics; preference for research, quantitative analysis, data manipulation, and data visualization skills.We firmly believe that past performance is the best indicator of future performance.
