The Company’s primary focus is to develop distributed power generators that can operate on various fuel sources to future-proof against an ever-changing energy economy.Job PurposeThe Advanced Engineer, Full Stack Software oversees the complete software development lifecycle for applications, middleware, and databases supporting Hyliion's strategic initiatives. This role requires expertise in all phases from architecture to support, with a strong focus on execution, delivering high-quality implementations in predictable increments while adhering to team processes.Duties and ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain full-stack applications using Vue.js, Node.js, or similar JavaScript frameworksDesign and implement database solutions using PostgreSQL and/or KQLContribute to the design, implementation, and maintenance of complex software systemsIntegrate and manage data APIs with a focus on user securityCreate scalable architectures for high-performance applicationsImplement solutions across both front-end and back-end environmentsAdapt to changing project needs and take on additional responsibilities as requiredCollaborate and coordinate within the team and with other engineering teams to ensure successful integration, testing, and deliveryParticipate in Agile development processesContinuously improve code quality, system performance, and development practicesAdditional duties and responsibilities as assigned, needed, or required for the business.QualificationsReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Education, Experience and Certifications
Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related field requiredMaster's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related field preferredMinimum 5 years of relevant experience in software development, including:
Designing and maintaining complex, mission-critical backend solutions using relational databases and APIs.Creating and supporting Single Page Applications (SPAs) as a Web Applications programmer
Minimum 5 years of experience developing technical products in a team environment
Skills and Abilities
Proficiency in relational database management and API designStrong knowledge of web application development and SPA architecturesStrong ability to troubleshoot and identify root causes of production issues within complex systemsExperience in creating and performing integration testingStrong knowledge of Node.js and Express.jsWorking knowledge of Azure Cloud environment and toolsFamiliarity with Azure IoT and Azure Data Explorer (ADX) preferredCollaborate effectively with team members through clear oral and written communicationExperience working within an Agile Project Management FrameworkStrong problem-solving skills and attention to detailExcellent communication and collaboration abilitiesAbility to understand and follow complex verbal and written instructionsStrong follow-through and self-starting natureAbility to contribute to requirements definition and prioritization of new applications, features, and processesAdaptability to evolving technologies and project requirementsAbility to work well in a high-paced environment, set and meet appropriate deadlines
Role Classification and Working ConditionsThis is a salaried, exempt-level position.
