Position Summary/Objective

:

The role of the Project Accountant will be to provide financial, administrative, and grant support to the organization. Their role is to review, audit, and reconcile grants and special revenue transactions against budget and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities:Review agreements for each grant and ensure compliance with grant spending or special revenue.Compile, track, and review all monthly grant expenditures for compliance with grant agreementsAssist with preparing the Interim, Quarterly, and Final Reports and closing documents required for grants.Work with program and accounting staff to manage the process of requesting, receiving, reviewing, and paying-out grant funds, while maintaining compliance with grant agreements and contracts.Audit grantor/grantee records to ensure accuracy.Work with Action Groups on communications, requests from granteeCommunicates with Project Manager and Finance Director regarding any discrepancies.Audit invoices in compliance with grant agreements, verify eligibility of costs and track scope and budget changes. Regularly monitor actual grant expenditures against budgets.Assist with processing and tracking for special revenue or distributionsAssist with preparing budgets specific to grant applicationsReconciles data and / or accounts. Reconciles sub-ledger to general ledger. Conducts tests of reason and other procedures necessary to verify data integrity.Other Responsibilities:

Represent the FGG externally to government agencies, auditors, and the general public as it relates to financial mattersAssist with Solver inputting of Annual Budget or Forecasts Costs.Plans and carries out recurring work using established proceduresAssisting with month end close dutiesCross train with accounting staff to be backup for accounting positions as neededSupport Responsibilities

Assist Finance Director and CFO with duties as necessaryAssist with Annual Year End Audit Preparation and other Audit Preparation throughout the year (i.e. APEX MEDC/DLA)Requirements

Bachelor Degree in Accounting or related fieldMinimum of two (2) years related experience, preferably with a nonprofit organization.Proficient in an accounting related software, Sage Intacct accounting system preferred but not required.Knowledge of budgeting software, Solver Cloud system preferred but not required.Proficient in Microsoft Excel/Word/Outlook/PDF editorEvidence of good interpersonal skills with colleaguesStrong analytical and logical problem-solving skillsKnowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, auditing, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systemsKnowledge of federal, state, and local financial regulations.
