Job Summary:
Reporting to the Director of Finance and Strategic Initiatives, the Finance Manager is responsible for a broad array of business and financial functions including monitoring financial transactions, review of adherence to procedures and fund balances and serving as point of contact with university budget, payroll and accounting departments related to the operation of Klein College. The Manager frequently communicates with internal and external clients such as Director of Administration, Office Managers, Accounts Payable, travel agencies, General Accounting, Research Accounting, Facilities, and auditors. Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to efficient operation of all financial activities related to the accounting affairs of the college; grant management including developing budgets for pre-award submissions, maintaining the College's grant database, providing ad-hoc and regular post award financial reports and projections to faculty and administrators. Provides reports to senior management. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field and at least three (3) years of financial management experience including leadership skills. Demonstrated experience with budget development, financial review and audits, monthly management and financial reports. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Required Skills & Abilities:
Proficiency with financial database management systems.Demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Office applications, electronic budget management tools, creating database from original source information and or university data sources. Ability to create and present management reports.Ability to professionally represent the Dean's office at short notice in meetings and other venues.Knowledge of applicable financial and budgeting principles.Strong customer service orientation and willingness to effectively work with a diverse population.Excellent written and oral communication skills are necessary.Outstanding interpersonal skills, along with the ability to act as a team player.High degree of diplomacy in meetings and faculty interaction.Strong organizational and time management skills and ability to prioritize a high volume of work.Ability to interpret and apply University, College and sponsor policies and procedures.Ability to work overtime and weekend hours to meet deadlines for special projects and peak work periods (when needed).
Preferred:
Experience using Banner applications.
