Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Underwriting Manager to join our team and help us manage our Professional Liability portfolio. The Underwriting Manager will be responsible for reviewing and underwriting complex Professional Liability risks, developing pricing and risk strategies, and building and maintaining strong relationships with brokers and clients. The ideal candidate should have a deep understanding of the Professional Liability market, excellent analytical and communication skills, and a strong track record of achieving profitable results. You will be responsible for underwriting and marketing all product lines in the Professional Liability Profit Center; including, lawyers & accountants, specified professions, architects & engineers and cyber.

Key Responsibilities:

* Review and analyze complex Professional Liability risks, including but not limited to lawyers, architects, engineers, accountants, and technology professionals.* Develop and implement underwriting strategies that ensure profitable growth and maintain a balanced portfolio.* Establish and maintain relationships with brokers, clients, and other stakeholders.* Collaborate with other underwriting teams to identify cross-selling opportunities and promote our broader product offerings.* Participate in industry events, including speaking engagements and conferences, to build awareness of our brand and reputation in the marketplace.* Monitor industry trends and regulatory changes that may impact our portfolio and provide guidance to senior management on potential risks and opportunities.* Provide mentoring and coaching to junior underwriters, and participate in training programs and initiatives to develop talent within the organization.

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field.* Minimum of 4 years of experience in Professional Liability underwriting, with a proven track record of profitable growth.* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and make sound decisions.* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.* Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to establish and maintain partnerships with brokers, clients, and other stakeholders.* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant underwriting software.* Professional designations such as CPCU, RPLU, and/or ARM are highly desirable.
