As an Underwriting for Small Businesses at Starr Insurance, you will play a key role in driving the underwriting strategy and growth within your designated region. You will be responsible for evaluating and pricing risks associated with small business insurance applications, ensuring profitability and adherence to company guidelines.

Responsibilities:

* Develop and implement underwriting strategies to achieve business growth and profitability targets in the small business segment.* Evaluate and underwrite small business insurance applications, analyzing risk factors and determining appropriate coverage and pricing.* Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including sales, claims, and product development teams, to drive cross-functional initiatives and deliver exceptional customer service.* Monitor market trends, competitive landscape, and regulatory changes to identify opportunities and risks, informing strategic decision-making.* Foster strong relationships with external partners, including brokers, agents, and clients, to drive business development and retention efforts.* Ensure compliance with company underwriting guidelines, policies, and procedures, as well as regulatory requirements. *

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Risk Management, or related field. Master's degree or professional designation (e.g., CPCU, AU) preferred.* Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in commercial underwriting, with a focus on small businesses.* Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to assess complex risks and make sound underwriting decisions.* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.* Results-oriented mindset, with a focus on driving business growth, profitability, and customer satisfaction.* Knowledge of insurance industry regulations, market trends, and emerging risks.
