Research, evaluate, develop and recommend general financial policies/procedures/manuals and modifications to existing methods to improve effectiveness and efficiency.Summary: The Accounting Manager (Controller) position is responsible for the accounting operations of the company which includes preparing or overseeing the preparation and review of financial statements, reconciliations, and reports related to TCR’s financial affairsResponsibilities:
Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and proceduresManage outsourced functionsOversee the operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectivesOversee the accounting operations of Irontime Sales, Inc. and Taylor Crane & Rigging, especially their control systems, transaction-processing operations, and policies and procedures.Accounting Manager (Controller) is a member of Taylor Crane & Rigging’s Leadership Board and is expected to help navigate the company toward a positive future.Advise the president during the decision-making process.Auditing for performance and efficiencyOther duties as assigned by senior level management
Transactions:
Ensure that accounts payable are paid in a timely mannerEnsure that all reasonable discounts are taken on accounts payableEnsure that accounts receivable are collected promptlyEnsure that periodic bank reconciliations are completedEnsure that required debt payments are made on a timely basisMaintain the chart of accountsMaintain an orderly accounting filing systemMaintain a system of controls over accounting transactions
Reporting:
Issue timely and complete financial statementsCoordinate the preparation of the corporate annual reportRecommend benchmarks against which to measure the performance of company operationsCalculate and issue financial and operating metricsManage the production of the annual budget and forecastsCalculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to managementProvide for a system of management cost reportsProvide financial analyses as needed, for capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations
Compliance:
GAAP Compliance auditingEnsures accountability, transparency and fiscal complianceResponsible for Asset Management and protect retirement securitiesCoordinate the provision of information to external auditors for the annual auditMonitor debt levels and compliance with debt covenantsComply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
Requirements & Skills:
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration, or equivalent business experience and 10+ years of progressively responsible experience for a major company or division of a large corporation.Preference will be given to candidates with the Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designations.A valid driver’s license is also required.
Team Management: Oversees accounting staff within the accounting dept.
