OC COMMUNITY RESOURCES (OCCR)OC Community Resources (OCCR) consists of 6 Programs - OCCR Administrative Services, OC Animal Care, OC Community Services, OC Housing & Community Development, OC Parks, and OC Public Libraries. OC Community Resources is committed to connecting people with resources.
THE OPPORTUNITYThe OCCR Staff Development & Training (SDT) team provides training service and support to the above mentioned Programs. SDT is dedicated to providing quality services to identify training and education needs of the OCCR workforce through surveys and other means, identify resources to deliver training and organizational development programs, and develop and deliver program specific curriculum.Intern Duties/Responsibilities: Duties may include assisting staff with one or more of the following assignments or projects:Provide administrative support by preparing electronic files, spreadsheets, reports, presentations, materials, and documents.Update and/or create training materials and resources such as class handouts, checklists, workbooks, flyers, newsletters, catalogs, surveys, etc.Conduct research, analysis, and draft reports/findings on special projects.Assist with set up and breakdown of classroom equipment, furniture, and signage.Participate in day-to-day operations and staff support.EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTSApplicants must be current college students enrolled in an accredited college/university or be a recent graduate (6 months). Internship is best suited for college students or recent graduates with backgrounds in business administration, communications, education, human resources, journalism, instructional design, marketing, organizational development, organizational leadership, psychology, public administration, public relations, sociology, or related fields. Those with an interest in pursuing a career in the public sector and/or in gaining experience within an office/administrative/training environment are encouraged to apply.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONSOCCR is seeking applicants with the following qualifications:
Demonstrate outstanding customer serviceExcellent oral and written communication skillsKnowledge of and/or interest in the training processAbility to create and implement engaging marketing initiativesHighly organized and dependableAble to complete assignments in a timely mannerReliable, outgoing, and able to work independentlyEager to gain professional experienceExperienced in Internet use and Microsoft Office including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Publisher, and OutlookAbility to lift, push, pull or carry 30 poundsTIME COMMITMENTMinimum 10 - 20 hours per week for 3 or more months. Hours must be scheduled during normal business hours (Monday - Friday between 8 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.). Valid state-issued license, proof of auto insurance coverage for personal injuries and property damage and a reliable vehicle is ideal in order to assist with events in the field. Applicants able to schedule the maximum hours/duration listed for the internship typically gain a more in-depth experience.
