THE OPPORTUNITY:

The Catering & Events Manager

is responsible for all wedding and social event inquiries, site visits, proposals and contracts in addition to in-house event coordination. They work with the Executive Chef, Director of Lodge and Dining, and Restaurant Manager to ensure that the appropriate and professional services are delivered according to the terms of the contract and in keeping with Moonlight Basin standards. They have strong business acumen skill and the ability to meet or exceed all financial goals.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

Schedule of all weddings, social events, activities, locations and times.Handle inquiry calls, proposals, negotiations and contracts according to departmental procedures for wedding leads.Schedule site visits and provide assistance to any walk-in clients, insuring each guest leaves with a positive impression.Responsible for selling events and private dining space using departmental policy and procedures.Ensure event details are accurate and entered into the sales and catering system.Generate and close wedding and social event contracts including catering, event space and accommodations.Creatively resolve guests concerns or challenges using business acumen skills and discretion.Interact with services and culinary teams to ensure smooth flow to the client.KEYS TO SUCCESS:

Bachelor's Degree or the equivalent years of experience in catering and events.3-5 years Hospitality Sales experience. Previous Catering Sales experience preferred.Familiarity with food and beverage basics, menu planning and private/group event coordination.Strong sales and negotiation skills set.Ability to effectively communicate with guests, management, and co-workers.Knowledge of current wedding trends.Computer proficiency and ability to work with Room Viewer software and Microsoft Office programs including Outlook, Excel and more.Must possess a positive attitude and be a team leader.Must integrate company values throughout all interactions.Must be dependable and available to work within the resort on weekends, nights and/or holidays based on business demands.Must comply with Moonlight Basin's Dress and Grooming policies.BENEFITS OF EMPLOYMENT:
